This year, for the 3rd year running, the winners of the two lead-up Masters Series events (Canada and Cincinatti) will play eachother in the US Open. Since there's already a thread like this for Roland Garros, it might be interesting to compare the finalists, of each event. The winners are written in capitals.

Since 1988, out of all the US Open champions, 6 have won Canada in the same year and 5 have won Cincinatti. 11 have won neither, although none for the last 6 years.

Only two, Rafter and Roddick, won all three in the same year.

So, after two US Open finals, this year's Canada Winner vs Cincy Winner will have to take place in the SF already.

Canada winners still have the slight historic edge, especially Toronto winners.

 Including Olympic participation might add something esle to the comparison. The after effects of participating in the Beijing could play a part in this year's USO final.
