A shame that Andy won playing that way, or that Andy beats Fed playing "crappy" tennis because he can't even seem to do that when he plays his best.

Roddick for several reasons. First I am sick of all the roddick bashing, you dont get to an open final without some skill, otherwise I would love nothing better than to be there myself, as well as having his serve. Also all these people who claim to hate him, yet feel the need to read every forum that is to do with him and post several comments saying how much they hate him, if you dont like him dont post, and the thread will go away, and you wont have to look at his name anymore. Second I am going for roddick as a way of bringing a little more life into tennis, it is getting to predicatable with Federer on top andit would be nice to see him challenged, but I will be happy with a good competitive game of tennis.

I don't mind Roddick (and would probably root for him against anyone else except maybe Safin) but my Federer Kool Aid is too strong.

All I can say is that it's a win-win situation for him, making the final is pretty awesome considering his crappy year, and of course winning would be nice.

How can you say Federer shows no emotion? Don't you remember those tears in Australia during his speech?

Roger shows emotion during his matches. He just doesn't look cocky and arrogant over winning a good point. Why should anyone do that? It's stupid.

Yes, exactly. Roger has a lot of emotion inside and that's been obvious. Keeping a poker face is simply a smart tactic. Besides they've been there and done all of this for along time. Hitting one particularly good shot or winning a nice rally is deserving of a little smile and then back to business.

Besides......that it seems on one hand if Roger ever loses a title he's treated as if he's a worthless hasbeen. Then if he wins another title people will say it's not right tha the wins EVERYTHING. Actually Roger has had to win this much to retain his #1 ranking.

GO ROGER ! I'd like for Roger to win because he has put in the hard work of being consistently good all year. I want Roger to remain #1 at the year end and definding the USOpen title will help him do that.

Also if Roger wins I think he will be the only person in the open era to have won 3 majors in two separate calendar years? I hope the pressure of setting this kind of record won't prevent Roger from playing his best.

GO ROGER !!!!

I hope Federer whoops his butt so hard it becomes too painful to watch. Nothing against Andy HIMSELF, but his tennis is tooooo boring and one-dimensional, he acts like a prick on court, has no sense of class towards his opponents whatsoever. Andy has gone through a lot of crap, and I sympathize with him, however, he's always been the same player, and the result of his recent downfall doesn't come across as a shock--he's a media hyped player. The only real change I see in his game, is that his backhand has become more tuned, he still hits it as if he's pushing the ball forward, but I like that he's not making as many UFEs, and that he can hang in there for a few more shots. Plus, Federer has been consistent all year long, heck, he's been consistent since he won that AO in 04 and became the world #1. I don't hear anyone saying he deserves to win this title, or make history one more time (the only man EVER to win the Wimbledon-USO double 3 years in a row).

Go ROG!

It can do more than that ;) [See: Sharapova]
Andy's been hyped as the next great American thing since he won in 2003. What has he done since then? It's gone downhill for him, but the media never stopped ranting about the next great American thing. He's not as good as the media makes out of him, and the fact that he's in his first Slam final in his last five tries, his second after 6 times at the Open, just goes on to prove he ain't all that.

I can't understand at all how people would have hyped after he won the USO. can't understand it all. it's not as if the best player in the game, who's American, wasn't retiring and the other was close to it. No, it seems so preposterous.

The stage is set, all the stars are aligned. Now it's just up to Andy to pull it off.

This is going to be a tough job though becasue all his faults were exposed yesterday in the Youzhny match. Maybe Connors has some tricks up his sleeve.

Anyhoo, I'm not a fan of either... so may the best man win and I hope the ratings are high so that the networks will pick up more tennis.
