well, he's already pushed him (Australian Open QF)

How can a guy who's in Top 10 and won 3 tournaments this year (so far) have a clown status?

If he defeats Federer, he'll shut everyone who's thinking he's not Top 10 material. He is. It's not his fault that Top 10 level dropped since the mid 90's

Nah.

You seem to have problems with players who conduct themselves properly on court. I dread to think what you would have thought of Bjorn Borg who, during his golden era, made Sampras and Federer appear highly emotional.

I remember the 1980 final against Borg when McEnroe saved 5 match points in the 4th set tie-break. Most players would have reacted or gone nuts. Borg showed no emotions and continued playing as if nothing had happend; no thrown rackets, no screams, no demonstation of irritation. I was always amazed how he conducted himself so well. Connors and McEnroe never managed to conduct themselves so well. Of course the ability to handle the occasion enabled him to win the 1980 final in the 5th set.

That's true about Adam, he likes the muckheaded racquet-abusers. :p

Davydenko will always have haters because he doesn't behave like a retard. That intimidates people on here.

Thread starter is an idiot if by now he still calls Kolya a clown.

He is a good player and he has prooved that he is a Top 10 Player but not a Grand Slam winner. I can understand why people don`t see him as a Top 10 Player and underestimates him, he dosen`t have anything in his tennis that is special like Feds Forehand or A-Rods serve or Safins Power and I think he lacks a little charisma. He is different but he seems like a nice guy.

Check every single ATP player and his Slam results this year and tell me how in the world you could understand those who say Kolya doesn't belong in the top 10?
So far in his career he has made SF at RG, SF at USO and twice QF at AO, even if we don't bring his 8 MM titles into discussion.

Losing to Puerta who failed a drugs test in that event I think.

Go figure, Hewitt held the #1 spot for 75 consequtive weeks I think, without having ANY kind of weapon (no, legs aren't considered to be a weapon), I guess you could understand people saying he didn't deserve the #1 spot back in the day.

Davydenko never had clown status to begin with. Sure, he plays every week and loses ridiculous 1st round matches now and then but that is the way he feels comfortable with.

No but Hewitt is a better player and he won Grand Slams. And Hewitt got his speed, he`s passing shots and the Top spin lob that made him alittle different than the others and ofcourse his attitude.

I don't think anyone called him a clown. That would be stupid given his consistency. Some people find his game boring but not clownish.

He was never a clown, sure no star, but he isn't where is just cause of optional results.

I am sorry 2 QFs and 1 SF in 3 Slams this year and a QF and SF last year, he is doing stuff that many other players are not doing. He is doing well in the majors.

People just like to make fun of underdogs. But he will be elevated to hero status once he beats Federer:).

he isnt a clown, he is a very talented player who just seems to lack one thing: a personality.
