It's about time he got his own forum, and yes that stuff my brother and I said about him being underrated is still very true, though I would like to see at least a TMS title, if his wrist doesn't give him any more problems.

Action Jackson

This is what I said about Nalbandian and it still holds true.

Nalbandian will always be an underrated player no matter how many Slams he wins or how consistent he is over his career. A good anaolgy would be with Mats Wilander this is a guy who won 7 Slams and was still underrated and he would probably the closest to a modern version

I accept that his underrated status is going to change any time soon, then again he isn't one of the ATP poster boys, so it's not surprising.

Well in a way it's better for him that he doesn't get the credit he deserves or is overlooked for his versatility and overall game.

Nalle can use that to his advantage as motivation to prove some people wrong, that is always a good motivation. Hopefully I am wrong about him not getting recognised, but I don't see it in the near future.

Hopefully he can win a Slam or TMS very soon, for himself and to stick it to some moronic media people.

I think you're right, he's been underrated in the past and still is, but I don't think he'll be in the future, at least I hope not.
I think his wrist is not an issue anymore and he has it all to win a TMS or even a GS, he's been very close in the past, and I'm not just talking about that Wimbledon final. He just has to be confident enough and take care of himself, I'm sure he'll have a great year.

It's nice to see you over here George. Yes, I also agree that David has been under-rated in the past, but things are changing slowly this year I think. It is definately high time he got a TMS trophy under his belt though - one of the American hard-courts ones would seem most likely, although I'd personally prefer it to be Monte Carlo as I've got tickets for the whole week there :)

Welcome to the new forum Fedex!!! Well, it's not 100% confirmed, but it's pretty sure that David's next tournament will Dubai, so maybe we can see another David/Roger match! ;)

Hi Fedex - nice to see you here :) As Jazz_Girl says, we're all keeping our fingers crossed for Dubai. David was injured during the Davis Cup tie with Morocco and hasn't played since  As usual there are lots of rumours flying about as to whether he will return to play there or wait a few more weeks, but hopefully we won't have much longer to wait for definate news - if he is going to play Dubai he will have to leave Argentina today (Friday) or tomorrow to get there in time!

First time I was checking through the players forum I was a little surprised that Nalby's was nowhere to be found, despite the fact that he is so good a player....

You did quite a good job :worship: . Nalby definitely deserves it! I actually tend to like him as long as he doesn't consistently beat my Roger ;)

And you guys are really nice. Happy to be here :D

It's good that many people are here and yes I have liked Nalle for a while, actually one of my best friends whose tennis knowledge I respect a lot paid me a compliment, when he said " I didn't rate Nalbandian initally, like you did" , but I do now, and that was months after his Wimbledon performance.

As I said before he will still go down as an underrated player, he actually reminds me of a modern day Mats Wilander, except not as good on clay. I mean tactically, strategically, very tough as well.

Thanks for your words George. I have to say that of all the people who post on these boards, you are one of those whose views I respect very highly, so I'm really pleased you speak so well of David. And yes, I know what you mean about the Mats WIlander link.

Thanks for that Rosie, well it's no problem to speak highly of David, as that is what I think. I just don't want people to come back at me when I criticise him when its deserved. Yes, I have my favourites but I can look at them objectively and they are not above any criticism at all.
