What exactly would you like the umpire to do? There is only so many times you can say quiet and thank you.

Federer will win you tool, take it easy.

The crowd is just trying to make it exciting. ;)

Not a whole lot the umpire can do.

They need hired thugs to beat up the hecklers.

In all seriousness crowds always support their own by any means necessary.
Human nature I guess.

how did you expect them to act, the quiet, subtle wimbly crowd? Hell no, this is New York. You're American, as your flag indicates, so you should know how New Yorkers act when an American player is playing in Ashe.

so how do you justify firing an umpire for something he can't control? He says quiet, please" numerous times, so it's not like he's not doing anything.

thats all he said, at wimbledon when it got out of control the umpire addressed the crowd

I prefer 10000000000000000000000000000 times this kind of crowd than the stupid quiet only "clap clap" crowd of Wimby.

Go New Yorkers :yeah:

dude it doesn't work against this pro-american crowd. last year, the umpire also addressed the crowd in the fed-andre final, they toned down for the next point, but it started back up again right afterwards. somethings you can't control...
i just think firing the umpire is a lil bit too extreme, no?

I agree n terms of the crowd... but not so much the umpire. I only saw a little, was it Molina?

The crowd needs a mute button. I was wondering if they were really that loud, or there were microphones exaggerating the noise. Then again, I probably haven't watched that many matches where one of their own has given Federer a fright.

Do you think there should be fines for calling for players by the spectators? After what I saw in Agassi-Baghdatis I think it's worth consideration

No one said anything about Federer not being able to stand loud crowds. In fact, he won, so obviously he stood them pretty well.

If the crowd is rude and someone on MTF wants to point it out, what's the big deal? There should be a certain amount of etiquette in sports that should be followed and not let it become a circus.
