Blake v. Federer

Fumus

He's 0 and 4 but no one beats James Blake 5 times in a row!!

(Except Andy Roddick and Lleyton Hewitt)

Certainly James has the game, and he looked the best I have seen him all tourney yesterday.

I say, James in 5. :)

As much as i would love Blake to win this i doubt he will. Maybe he will get a set and i hope its close but i cant see Federer NOT getting into the final

Rafa = Fed Killa
09-07-2006, 03:00 PM
If blake is playing he can beat Fed in 5.

But he does not have the mentality to beat the self proclaimed God of tennis and will probably start worshipping him after the first set.

We need one of the real competitors to beat Fed, the 5 left are too afraid of Fed to realize his weaknesses.

Fed wins another tournament because his opponents are wusses, what else is new.

It would be an absolute shocker if Blake beats Fed. Fed's too close to the finals and he wouldn't let anyone get past him to get there, I'm sure. And bcoz, I'm also hoping for a Fed-Roddick final so that Rod can finally beat Fed's ass!

Am I really that transparent.

No no, I think James is great. Woot woot! I am not even thinking about a Blake vs. Roddick final and what that would do for American tennis and how awesome that would rock and how much I would like Roddick's chances against James as opposed to his chances against Roger.... :D

haha, In all seriousness...It would be cool if James won his first 5 setters against Roger though. That would totally shut the critics up. Sides no one had this thread...figured why not. I will put my nick on the line and pick James in 5.

Roger isn't from Spain or Argentina so...the chance of Youzhny beating him would be slim.

Blake on the other hand has beaten some quality hardcourt players already in this tournement and his form against Berdych was impressive. I think infront of this rowdy NYC crowd, where he seems to play his best tennis...he has a good chance of knocking Fed out in spectacular fashion.

Rowdy and disruptive elements like them have no place at tennis venues. They should go and watch sport which have much more aggresive tendencies. Tennis does not need these sort off supporters.

Wimbledon is an example of how spectators should behave.

It would be a tremendous story if James Blake could both beat Federer and finally win a five set match, but I don't think it will happen. I don't even like Blake but this would be amazing nonetheless. I would love to see it go five sets though (even though I don't really think it will) so I voted Roger in 5. Sure the first set must hurt, but i think this is the issue with blake. Looking at the Gologin - Sharapova match yesterday, Golovin lost a close first set, after having 2 set points... but rebounded quickly and took the next set to a tiebreak also. James blake, lost 7 games in a row.

Mentally.... :o

the match is OVER! He has never won a five set match, and i doubt it's going to start now, in a slam against federer. Shame.

But to be a top player, you need to be tough mentally, and clearly James B. doesn't have it. A shame... because he is sooooooo gorgeous!!! :sobbing:

HEH listen to the funny man!

Davydenko (0-7 vs Fed) "has some game to cause problems." Of course he does. :)

Andy (1-10 vs Fed) can "do even more than that." If he gets to play Fed, Andy is going to lose like a girl. Surely you know this?! Andy certainly knows it. :)
