santiago vlad, you miss ricardo mello, who won delray beach and reach the 3rd at USO in 2004

hey jeffcandoi, why meligeni didnt call daniel and alves for the DC tie vs Sweden???

Stgobaiano
09-22-2006, 01:34 AM
Yes Ricardo Mello. I missed him.

I think that Alves won`t play Davis Cup because he dont have experience and he is a hardcourter

Daniel is not passing a good time he is going to finalize 150 this year.

I remember also in 97 when fininho lead chino 6-1 5-2 at santiago, but marcelo came back to win the 2nd 7-6 and 6-0 in the 3rd

congrats to meligeni for that victory, he deserved the win

massu can retire in peace with 2 olympic gold medals

any future of chilean tennis???? in the next 3-4 years NO!!!, but de la peña tennis program is the only hope

Stgobaiano
09-23-2006, 03:11 AM
The future in Chile?

Well not to much future....

Capdeville has 23 years and he is a player like thiago alves... hardcourter
but his limit is 80 in the world. Is a good player, but not a great player.

Podlipnik is 20 in juniors rankings ... could be a top 150

Urzua is 50 but he born in 1989

But in generation 90 91 ad 92 are many boys who have conditions..

Brazil have a juniors player ... Santos?? is he good?'

If Bruno Rosa is a student why they give WC to play in ''Petrobras tournaments'' last years?

Rosa only took the decision to go to college in U.S. earlier this year.

Yeah, Capdeville and Alves are pretty much on the same level. What about Aguilar and Hormazabal? Any hope for them?

Nicolas Santos is a good prospect though he's taking too long to make the transition to pro level. He's still concentrating on the junior tournaments, and that can harm his career. Players who place too much weight on their junior careers tend to not develop their game. Here in Brazil we have plenty of examples of former top junior players that got stuck up at futures level when they turned pro, like Kirche, Rosa, Raony Carvalho, Bruno Soares, etc.

WCs are not about merit, but about commercial success. Why do you guys think TDs of challengers often put wildcards up for sale? The same goes for the Bs As tournament offering Guga a wildcard. I can assure they didn't do it to help a Brazilian player.

I have no idea, but maybe the TDs thought Canas wouldn't attract more crowd than any Brazilian player. It's not like he's an extremely popular player like Kuerten or Moya for the matter. In Belem, Canas was treated like a celebrity, but maybe things wouldn't be the same in Gramado.

He is not a drugged man, the ATP already assured that.
And Guga did nothing with the WC that Jaite gave to him. Instead, Cañas it seems he is going to make a great tournament.
We are talking about a man who is coming back after a fifteen-month suspension and in his first tournament he played he won. So, he really made something to deserve a WC. But now is playing quallies and that can make a good preparation for him. Besides, he is a fighter so he is going to run every ball. Maybe don't giving a WC could be worse for brazilians, because he is going to be with more matches for the Main Draw.
Next time you post, try to be objective.

Eu estava totalmente fora do jogo, bastante estressado. Ontem estava lá na Davis e hoje chegamos de madrugada em Gramado, num piso totalmente diferente, condições diferentes, bola mais rápida. Então, fiz o que eu podia. Estou bastante cansado", disse Saretta.

Very tired..i forgive the magic...

hahahahahaha all brazilians here should shut the fuck up.

first of all laughing about Canas.
But then one of them said that Ghem was going to win the tournament and he lost in R1.
Then they say that Saretta will win, but he lose against a futures player and the excuses are that he was tired? tired from what? from losing in 3 sets with a bagel included the day before? pfff come on!

Brazil will stay in Americas Zone for a long time, so you have no excuses to blame argentinean players.

Idiot....think again... Saretta was in Belo Horizonte on Monday...he cames yesterday to gramado.. so he played with soderling and after this..take the plane and flight to gramado and arrived in 12.00 here.. he was playing in the clay..slow court..with hot sun...and now he takes a young boy(hocevar)...ready to win...not tired...in a HARD court...in a COLD OF THE SOUTH... WHAT IDIOT DOES NOT SEE THAT SARETTA WAS TIRED ????

the sad thing is that he´s right. (not about us shutting up)
canas should have won the WC for the main draw. but i think organization was scared that we´d win the whole thing. two brazilians in the final is more interasting. you can sell more tickets.

ghem and saretta are weak players. flavio has talent, but it´s lazy and cant focus on tennis. andre at least tries and works hard.

and we will need a miracle to get back in world group....

:haha: :haha:

You should have thought of it earlier that Flávio is quite tired after the DC-match. Actually I think you are a dreamer of Saretta's potential. It's not that I'm not a fan of him and that Saretta has potential, if he can focus on his work... But after such a hard match like it was in DC (physically and mentally) it's nearly normal to lose a bit the concentration. And it's not that Flávio tanked in the match, but only couldn't hold the concentration in the important moments.

Jelena

canas should have won the WC for the main draw.
As far as I know Cañas asked too late to get a wc. All were already given away. And it would have been unfair to tell a player "Sorry we gave you a wc, but we have to take it away from you because a more popular/(financial) success-promising has just asked to get one." So it's not the mistake of the TD, but of Cañas.
