With how he is acting on the court.

First, he shows disgust when Federer challenges a call (and Federer turned out to be right, too) even though Spadea himself challenged a ball earlier than was shown to be very much in.

Then, he yells "F***!" and slams his record when he is broken.

Spadea - he's afraid of ya

Federer - he's ahead of ya

Break it down, y'all! :)

Speaking of Spadea, is he just short-legged or are his pants too baggy?

He's a class act.
And that's a fact.
His pants are real baggy
'Cos he's hung like Baghy
So give me no jive
He'll eat Fed alive
On Tuesday he'll pickle
That dickhead Gicquel
On Thursday Berdych
Will be Vinnie's next bitch
Then the idiot Murray
Will go down in a hurry
In the final with Hewitt
He'll just goddam DO IT

Maybe in 07

Is anyone watching this Federer match? He doesn't look like himself - he seems really pissed off. Odd.

I'm watching the match and don't get that impression at all--he very efficiently went about disposing of Spadea.

Deb: I apologise, I apologise unreservedly....

Still, I wish I could have seen it, just for some of the Ice Man's alleged behaviour, e.g. over challenges. Was he genuinely annoyed over some of them/thought the calls were really wrong or was it tactical?

Bageling to Spadea and after what he said on his book without permission of the other players is a thing I have to :haha:

Well done Rogi :yeah: (I can't believe that I'm doing this :tape: )

Roger's got a walkover it seems to the Qtrs. (I said the same about Andre today, but I really believe with Roger.)

hmm....maybe its just a reflection of the nutter on the other side of the net.

I mean, I know he doesn't usually let people "in", but this seemed a little more closed off than normal.

Edit: He's fed fourteen bagels. I haven't checked to see if any players got force-Fed twice.

This "spoilt princess" assessment of Federer's character is ludicrous, and easily disproved by talking to any of his peers in the lockerroom, judging by what they've said about him when asked. Anyhow, Spadea can get under anyone's skin with his on-court antics, I'm just glad that Federer kept his focus and got on with the job in hand.

Doesn't Federer hold some sort of record when it comes to bageling?? Does anyone know what I'm talking about??

Anyway Fed's next match seems like a cakewalk...some guy ranked barley in the top 80 named Marc Gicquel. Never heard of him.

There was a guy named Vince
Who’s rapping made people wince
He thought he was cool but he looked like a fool
And when he played against the Fed
His ‘coolness’ went dead
With a scoreline that read
Three and three and a bagel, ‘nuff said!

Yeah, I could detect something going on beneath his neutral expression. His body language between points was tense at certain points.

Spadea was acting like 'Damn, I ought to be beating this @sshole!'. He could keep up with Federer to a point (3 all in the first two sets), but after that Federer would break away and Vince didn't have a response for it. Its really amazing how Fed can go into 'flawless mode' and not make a mistake.

Spadea looked to me like he was under some stimulans. The flare in his eyes and his frantic behaviour....
I also noticed the surprised look on Federer's face in second or third game, when he seemed to have thought the same thing. Cortisone? Something else? Or maybe just Spadea had some strange trip that night.
Anyway he played much better then you would expect in the first two sets.

Vince is talented player. There's a new level of frustration in his personality, because he's not getting the on court results he so desperately desires. He probably expected his stint in the top 20 to unfold into a ride into the top ten and all the riches it holds. It has to annoy him one of his personal bitches (J. Blake is 1-6 against him) is getting all the goodies he wants for himself.

Spadea doesnt even deserve to be on the same court as federer, it was a 100% demolition job even before the match had started. Funny to hear these things about spadea, I guess a no hoper like spadea has to try and do something to rattle federer.
