Some interesting stats

For players still playing in the tourney, as of now.

1st serve points won:
>Federer has the highest 1st-serve-points-won % at 85%.
>Berdych is 2nd out of remaining players, at 84%.
>Roddick 1st serve pts? 81%. Nadal? 79%

2nd serve points won:
>Daydenko leads with 68% of points won.
>Nadal is 2nd at 66%.
>Federer? 51%
>Roddick? 55%


Aces:
>Becker leads the tourney with 54 aces.
>Roddick is 2nd, with 45.

Challenges:
>Remaining player with most challenges? Safin, with 6.
>Overall? Agassi, with 8.
>Remaining players who have not challenged? Hewitt.


Serve speed:
>Andy has the fastest recorded at 148mph.
>Becker is 3rd, with a serve at 142mph.

Top players for breaks? :
1.)Murray, 22 breaks
2.)Hewitt, 18 breaks
3.)Roddick, 15 breaks


Woah, I think it just became clear these stats don't indicate much. I will stop.

No, these stats are still very interesting. Thanks.

I would have probably expected Federer to have a higher winning % on second serves than first serves, relatively speaking. He is currently ranked the highest in second serve % won for the year, so for him to rank so high in first serve % won and so low in second serve % won surprised me a bit.

And Roddick getting 15 breaks is also quite an accomplishment. :)

Yeah, but it's all a little bit misleading. Roddick broke 15 times over 3 matches... While Federer only has 12 at the moment, but after only 2 matches. It would probably been a better idea to post this after all 3rd matches are done.

Also, it's too bad USTA doesn't have more %-based stats... such as % of return points won or % of games broken instead of total number of breaks.
