I am glad we don't get too much replayed Agassi here -though main channel is showing AA/Blake from last year now  I can always watch the "squeege men" though! And hope they do give the 2nd round matches priority - wouldn't be fair otherwise.

Piority is to be given to Davenport match, Saffin-Nalbandian, and those singles not played last night.
Does that mean reversing the schedule of play, or moving those matches to other courts?

There are 4 matches in question:
Srebotnik vs Davenport (Armstrong 2nd)
Nalbandian vs Safin (Armstrong 3rd)
Sweeting vs Rochus (Granstand 3rd)
Schnyder vs Bartoli (court 11 2nd, suspended at 0:6 3:1)

Ny guess is that Sweeting-Rochus will be moved to an outside court, probably #10.
If rain allows only one match on Ashe in the day session, it would be Agassi and the 2 previous matches will be postponed to Sunday, same court and same time, followed by Blake's match.

The only solution to rain delays is a retractable roof like they have in Australia and plan to build at Wimbledon until 2009.
Do they have such plans at US Open?

Of course, it will be only good for the TV and those players scheduled to play on the show courts, and the majority of matches will still be delayed...

Also... they should cover the courts like at Wimby so that no time will be wasted on drying the courts... this shouldn't be very costly, is it?

It is 6:20 PM here in NYC and it is pouring. The night session would normally start at 7:00 PM. Even if it stopped raining immediately it will take 1-2 hours to dry the courts.
It is supposed to rain thru the night. I think it doubtful that any tennis will be played today.

Ok, so I can go to sleep (it's almost 1:00 AM here) without any hesitation. Maybe tomorrow Ernesto or another shithead will choose another place
