Bagel Boy served a DF after coming back from 2-6 to 6-6 in TB :haha:
served for set and messed it up :rolls:

Go Melzer!

Robby's playing too reactively. Jurgen is gaining confidence.

Melzer 7-6 6-4  :woohoo:

Ginepri broke in the first game of the third, then lost about six or seven points in a row... classic. C'mon Jurgen, finish the goateed one!

Just noticed, the scoreboard says 1-0 to Austria in rubbers already. Slightly premature, given the last couple of games I think.

Sjengster

Indeed. I do hope he doesn't screw this up, because Koubek has next to no chance in the second rubber. Wouldn't it be great to have a live third day?

Grr, Melzer had 15-40 in the last game but couldn't convert... 5-3 Ginepri.

Ginepri returns VERY well. Plus he's fast.

Serving for the match 30-0 with double break.

nice job Robby but thanks for taking so long that coverage is going off

nice job closing it out with 2nd serve ace!

not bad for a first-time comeback from 2-0 sets in his DC debut, either.

and now we lose tv coverage

Roddick just won his match against Koubek easily- 6-4 6-4 6-2 i think. And he set a record with a serve of 241 kph (150 mph). His second seve AVERAGE speed was 205 kph
Good win for Robby, too.

Hmmm... In the quarterfinal of Australian Open his stats were like fastest 219 kph, avg. 1st serve 197 kph, avg. 2nd serve 161 kph. So this 205 kph must be his avg. 1st serve speed today, right? Otherwise you gotta be kidding me :)

maybe something tweaky about that radar gun. but a record is a record. wow

I think there is some messup with the stats at daviscup.com: in the Roddick match they have:
avg. 1st serve speed 190 kph
avg. 2nd serve speed 204 kph
highest 1st serve speed 241 kph
highest 2nd serve speed 235 kph

These are just insane unless Roddick has replaced his 2nd serve with a more brutal version of his first serve :)

is that according to the live scoring stats? if it is then they are wrong

so far every match I've watched, the online stats have been wrong. Right now with the Aus/Sweden dubs match it says Bjorkman/Johansson's highest 2nd serve speed is 245kph

Jachim Johansson served a couple 237, but I don't think it were second serves and they were faults

highest that went in were around 231

Why could ESPN News show the Roddick-Koubek match live? After all ESPN News just basically reruns their sports reports all day long. And not seeing Roddick's record breaking 150 mph serve live annoyed me. :( Well done Andy and Robby. :)

Yes cat, I imagine that missing a serving Koubek hardly got a racquet on must have been TERRIBLE for you. I hate when I miss out on such fabulous tennis!

the cat, they're going to show the match after the dubs, which should be over relatively soon

great match, the Bryans are so entertaining and it was fabulous to see live doubles being shown live at a decent hour. It's so nice to see them a part of the team!
