It is so frustrating that it is raining and matches are interrupted.
I think that in all Grand Slams should have a roof to close when it rains.
At least in the all center courts.

It asks for money but someting ought to be done.

They can┤t move non-attractive players matches to the earlier schedule.
For instance not to start 11am but start it 8 or 9am.

First and second round matches could be played earlier but maybe 3rd round forward

The tournament wouldn't be 1/2 as good. New York presents the best backdrop and crowds in the US. I've been to events all over the US in just about every sport including tennis and no crowd compares to a NY crowd. The tournament is where it belongs.

It is amazing that BIG and POWERFUL america do not have the money to buy
the roof over the stadiums. Or do not have the money to get covers on the courts.
US Open should be played in Miami or Indian Wells not in NY.

Covers don't work on hardcourts. Hardcourts retain heat and you get condensation under the cover, so the court is still wet, and you still have to dry it.

Vorteil seriously stop with your comments. Your freaking ridiculous. Who cares about the BIG and POWERFUL America. Where talking about a freaking tennis tournament and not governments. Chill out buddy and get a clue. Alot of tennis tourney's don't have roofs. Hey did you know the Mets and Yankees don't have roofs on there stadiums and the same for the Jets and Giants. Your talking about a tournament that is two weeks long and a roof that would cost an absolute fortune and would only allow a few matches to be played in poor weather. New Yorkers wouldn't foot the bill cause we have more important things to do then build a roof for a tennis tourney. Take your complaint to the ATP or USTA and shut up already.

2:00 EST: Still raining here in Manhattan and the weather pattern moves East so I would guess it hasn't stopped out at the Open yet, unless the weather system has veered in a different path. I was there at 11:00 this morning but gave up.

Yesterday the rain stopped at 11:00 and they didn't start playing til after 1:00. There are an awful lot of courts to dry out; they seemed to have 3 or 4 teams of "dryers" so once the rain stops it will take a while to start. I think they do Ashe, Armstrong & Grandstand first.

It is supposed to continue raining off and on the rest of today and into the night.

Whatever happens today, I doubt they can complete the full schedule of matches so I would imagine Wednesday and Thursday schedules might get altered.

I'm going back on Thursday.
