It looks like Xavier has been behaving really badly.
I really don't get it. He seems like such a calm person, but when he's on court he can't control his temper. I suppose Xavier can be glad his match wasn't televised or else he would get the fuzz which Santoro had to endure.

Santoro hit with spit fine
Leo Schlink in Melbourne, tennis

"FRENCHMAN Fabrice Santoro has been fined $US1500 ($A1900) – the heaviest fine so far at the Australian Open – for spitting at a linesman at Melbourne Park.

The veteran's actions were assessed by tournament officials yesterday after they received a written report and viewed videotape of the incident during his second-round loss to Mark Philippousssis.
Santoro, one of the sport's keenest historians and finest sportsmen, was furious after being foot-faulted in the opening game of the fourth set and, on losing his serve, turned toward the line judge and spat.
Belgian Xavier Malisse has been the worst behaved player of the tournament. He was docked $US2000 for two incidents during a first-round doubles win – $US1000 for spitting at the baseline official, who had called a foot fault, and a further $US1000 for hitting two balls towards the umpire soon after.
Malisse was given a third $US1000 fine for clouting a ball at a linesperson – who had also called a foot fault – during his first-round singles loss to Slovakian Karol Kucera.
Armenian Sargis Sargsian, eliminated by Australian teenager Todd Reid, was docked $US1000 for illegally receiving coaching during the match."
