Kudos to Federer for equalling Connors' 30 year old record for consecutive weeks as number 1!
He's probably already guaranteed to overtake McEnroe for 4th place at the all time weeks at number 1 list (170 weeks).

Congrats to Roger on clinching a 4th consecutive YE #1.
Next season, Federer will start while holding the number one spot for 205 (!) straight weeks.

Thank you so much for this! Also it's super amazing and just tells us how great Federer is to be at no.3 spot and all of it is a cumulative 210 weeks. Just purely amazing.

Connors had a total of 268 weeks as no. 1, so not that close really. ;)

Actually, it's 244/245 weeks. The record, though impressive, comes with an asterisk. Connors won only 3 slams during that stretch of nearly 5 years. Federer won 11 slams as world number 1.

Unless Nadal will get injured and miss next years clay season, I don't see Federer regaining the number 1 spot, to be honest. Typical he has to end one week shy of Sampras' record.

Rafael Nadal is back at #1 and is likely to stay there for the foreseeable future.
