Can Todd Martin beat Marat SafinBilbo 01-22-2004, 12:55 PM He looked unbreakable against Karlovic. Also Safin had some problems I heard. star 01-22-2004, 01:00 PM Martin is a dangerous opponent. It seems to me that if Marat is playing well, he should beat Martin. But Martin is the kind of guy who can bring victory from defeat. I have so much respect and admiration for Todd. He's a great guy. So, I'm rooting for him against Marat. mrpenguin 01-22-2004, 01:03 PM Marat has pumped some serious iron during the winter(check out the pics shirtless on ausopen.org). it's ups and downs with him, and it looks like it 's time for some up's sigmagirl91 01-22-2004, 01:03 PM Todd, all the way.... jmp 01-22-2004, 01:10 PM "Can Todd Martin beat Marat Safin" Yes, Todd is the Wiley One. I'm still looking for a Marat win here. GO MARAT GO!!! Deboogle!. 01-22-2004, 02:40 PM Yes Todd can win! that old man has shown he can do anything  Will he win? Well, I dunno... Conchon 01-22-2004, 02:53 PM Martin can definitely win, but I think Safin will be able to pull through if he keeps his mental/physical consistency. Even if he doesn't play to his best, playing well will be enough to get Marat into the 4th round. Ma. Estefania 01-22-2004, 04:22 PM Yes, he can....but I deeply hope he doesn't do it. Habsudovafan 01-22-2004, 04:35 PM I hope he won't. When will he finally retire. He looks like a grandpa.. renatoal 01-22-2004, 04:53 PM He can, but not this time ! GO Safin !! MisterQ 01-22-2004, 09:13 PM Yes, Todd can win. He doesn't have the inate physical talents of Marat, but he is one of the smartest players out there. This is a tough choice for me because I like both players, and I am wishing Marat well in his comeback --- but I will be cheering for old Todd on this one. RealityRyan 01-22-2004, 11:20 PM um....yea go Marty, the unibrowed wonder!!! haha Todd rocks! :p TheBoiledEgg 01-23-2004, 09:22 AM He looked unbreakable against Karlovic. Also Safin had some problems I heard. the simple answer WAS that Karlovic holds serve too easy and cannot break for the life in him. thats why Todd beat him, cos in a tiebreak his brains were too much for Ivo's game. well its a bit late now but Marat played bad and won in 5. (only got going in sets 4/5). allusion 01-23-2004, 09:41 AM It was close but somebody pulled through in the end ;) &it had nothing to do with consistency, GO MARAT. | |
