I seriously cant believe odds on some teams in the round of 16

Mexico last night were $14 and Australia Vs Italy are $6-7.50 for Australia :S

I like Ecuador +0.5 tonight @ $2.95 and Holland to Progress @$1.75

Ecuador won't stop England IMO. They have a nice team but the english will find a way to win it. (although you have a chance because it might go to OT :) )

I wouldn't back Holland with their preformance so far. It's pretty 50-50 match IMO but i think Portugal will get the edge

England to win in ET @ 8/1, looks a good bet.
As does England (-1), Ecuador (+1), Tie @ 5/2

I don't bet on England, so I will leave it to everyone else to profit.
And I lost too much on the friggin Argies yesterday. :(

GL everyone, come on England!!!

Im curious what fifas gonna do about figos headbutt and how healthy ronaldo is if at all. If they're both a go I dont see why they couldnt upset the english side, they've looked brutal.

i believe figo got a yellow for that so fifa's rules state that he can't be suspended now (or at least UEFA's rules are like that, i think FIFA has the same rules).

Ronaldo will play

As to Figo, well who knows what FIFA will do - I mean Harry Kewell verbally abused a referee for over a minunte after the Brazil match yet he got away with it

Like that bet, mine is similar

Total yellow cards for the day 13 or more

Australia & Italy will account for over half of them easily, Australia WILL be physical and have nothing to lose

Will there be a red card in the match - YES - $3.25 (Australia v Italy)

hmmm interesting booking points bet yoel. Ive never seen such a bet before. How many points are red/yellow cards worth?

Im gonna take Australia to qualify @ 3.60
Schwarzer is back in the lineup, and should cause italy some problems in scoring goals. Australians love the underdog tag and have already started the mind game saying italy are "100% favourites". Even though Kewell is doubtful to play, id say (and hoping) the Hiddink factor will get us through

Good luck! :wavey:

Red card = 25 points

Yellow card = 10 points

Maximum 35 points per player (so if someone gets red because of two yellows it is only 35 points)

Italy vs Australia

Italy 1-0 Aus @ 6.2
Italy 2-0 Aus @ 6.4
Aus to qualify in ET @ 26

4 years ago Hiddink's S.Korea knocked out Italy. Could it happen again? I dont think it can in normal time but in extra time I think the underdog could prevail so that's it for the speculative bet on Aus to qualify in ET.

Italy have shown class in their group matches (apart from against USA anyway!) and they have shown that they have now progressed from grinding out 1-0 victories to scoring late in the game to grind out 2-0 victories so I feel this could be a good bet. However, if Aus score I doubt they'll win the match so Aus in ET is my cover bet.

Ukraine vs Switzerland

Draw @ 3.2

These are two evenly matched teams. Although Switzerland have been the more impressive in the group stages with 3 clean sheets and a draw against France, they are missing a key player in Senderos for todays game and against Shevchenko Switzerland will need their best defenders to be playing. However, Ukraine are beatable at the back shown by their 4-0 loss to Spain and so I expect this to be an evenly contested game.

small bet on Brazil vs. Ghana over 2,5 goals @ 1.88. Like bg said yesterday, something like 8 straight matches went under. Time over an over, as Ghana's defense isn't really what you call rock solid.

medium bet on France to qualify @ 2.42. Spain are known for chocking on the big stage. And besides that, France definitely have the quality to turn around their poor form. Time for Henry, Vieira and Zidane to step up a gear. Very tasty odds as well.

Brazil vs Ghana

HT/FT Draw/Brazil @5.1

In Brazils last 7 matches (including two of the group matches), 6 of them have had this outcome. Brazil apparently need a half time wake up call to get them going as shown against both Australia and Japan and in the case of Croatia they only scored in the 44th minute. This has much better value than Brazil to win @1.3 and in my eyes is not that much less likely (especially after cashing in on it during the group stages!)

May also be tempted to put HT score 0-0 (@3.55)or 1-1 (@16).

Spain vs France

Draw @3.1
Spain to qualify in ET @11
HT/FT France/Draw @19
HT/FT Spain/Draw @ 18

On paper this game should be great for the neutral. It is two of the great powers of football. However, in reality it is the underachiever vs the waster. Spain have looked very impressive. They look defensively solid with a great keeper and strong defence (although the full backs are still a relative problem in their side). The midfield is tidy and creative with Torres, Raul or Villa up front looking lively and all scoring. France on the other hand look like they are just finding their feet. They made heavy weather of the group stage which looked to be an easy group and have landed themselves a tough 2nd round draw. However, Henry has scored 2in his last 2 now and they can start looking forward to a better game against a better side tonight.

I feel this game will be even after 90minutes. As long as Henry plays well France have a chance. The value on one team to be winning at half time and drawing after 90minutes is huge so thats what I'm going for.

The only reason I would back against France in extra time is the fact that Spain have players such as Fabregas, Torres, Reyes etc compared to France's Vieira, Zidane, Makelele etc. It's the age difference. The youngsters will out-run the legends over 120 minutes and that could be the difference.

Good luck all

Have to say I'm leaning the other way boys. Over rated Argies?! they beat a tough Mexico team whereas the Germans haven't beaten any quality yet... piss easy group including under strength Ecuador, and then 10 man Sweden (allbeit already 2-0 up before sending off). Haven't seen them under any real pressure yet.

3.25 on the Argies in 90 too good to miss for me....
