I assumed - player from small country, not well known on the world stage for tennis players but can acquit himself well if needs be. I think Labadze fits the mark, he's got a deadly forehand. I don't think Norman fits the mark. Belgium is known for its talented tennis players.

....of course, my assumption could be wrong.

Btw, big up T&T.

no i mean more: a player who is not very known.. and everyone thinks that he sucks.. and then performs very well.. maybe above his abillity!!

Hmmm this reference seems to refer to the Winter Olympics when T and T actually had a set of tobogan racers on the ice :p I doubt any player in tennis would fit the irony of that.

I'm not a big football fan so I don't know all the details... but I always thought a lot of our players went abroad to play for some major teams Dwight York being the most famous of the lot (he used to play along side Beckman at Manchester United I think?)

No offense but I am having a hard time taking anything serious here on MTF these days. Must be me;)

In that case, then I nominate Danai Udomchoke from Thailand. I don't know much about him but I saw him play at the Aussie Open this year. I think it may have been against a top ten or top twenty player, can't remember who exactly. But he certainly impressed me. He lost the match but showed a pretty good game. Pity he's so darn small and slight.

I would say Gilles Simon. He's had some great results this year but not a lot of praise.
