LLeytonRules 06-15-2006, 04:47 PM Time for some payback.Hewitt in straight sets. Hola Mr. SK 06-15-2006, 04:48 PM Lleyton will win yanchr 06-15-2006, 04:48 PM Hewitt in straights. kindablue 06-15-2006, 04:49 PM C'mon Lleyton!!! Alexiana 06-15-2006, 04:50 PM I would say Hewitt in 3 as well, but never give up on the little fighter  Johnny Groove 06-15-2006, 04:52 PM I would love nadal to win, and since rafa is so clueless on grass, and hewitt is just :banghead:, i dunno, rafa in 3 rofe 06-15-2006, 04:53 PM Hewitt in 3. lucashg 06-15-2006, 04:53 PM C'moooon  oneandonlyhsn 06-15-2006, 04:54 PM C'monnnnnnnnn Rusty :rocker: Deboogle!. 06-15-2006, 04:55 PM I'd be shocked if Hewitt loses. ~Jin~ 06-15-2006, 04:57 PM Hewitt in 3. Nacho 06-15-2006, 04:58 PM it seems neither are playing well this week... could be a bad match :o NYCtennisfan 06-15-2006, 04:58 PM If Hewitt is serving well, he will take this in two. If he isn't, I think Nadal has got a chance in 3. LLeytonRules 06-15-2006, 04:59 PM I am waiting for Hewitt's straight sets victory, this one might be it. Tom_Bombadil 06-15-2006, 04:59 PM I think all factors point to a clear Hewitt victory (2 sets). I would love to see Nadal win, but I'm realistic. Nadal's play on grass so far (specially this match) is average at best. But as always he's awesome in attitude, fighting spirit and competitiveness but that's not enough when you're playing grass court tennis like you were on clay. You definitely can't win on grass playing the clay game, even if you're Nadal. Argenbrit 06-15-2006, 05:06 PM Lleyton! Go for the revenge. :yeah: Neverstopfightin 06-15-2006, 05:08 PM Unless Hewitt played a very crappy match i don't see Nadal with chances to win this match. Today against Verdasco he has shown all his weaknesses on grass and these are lots . Unless he changes his playstyle remarkably and improves a lot i think it's an utopia to think Nadal can be a dangerous player on grass in the future able to do great things at Wimbly . He can win matches on grass thanks for his mental strength but not thanks for his grass skills which are usually lower than his opponents weapons on that surface. The Daviator 06-15-2006, 05:11 PM Rafa 6-3 7-5 Clara Bow 06-15-2006, 05:15 PM Hewitt should win. Rafa took a step back in grass play today (he was a lot better in the second set against Fish yesterday) and as the commentators said - was "average." He also seemed to be without any real verve at all. Hewitt may not have had a great match today, but he is the better grass court player. jenanun 06-15-2006, 05:17 PM nadal! haha! (though i cannot believe i vote him...) vamos rafa!!!!! you can do it... you dont need to do it in straight sets... 0-6, 7-6, 7-6 will be good enough!!!!! Kip 06-15-2006, 05:22 PM Lleyton will take his revenge on the grass. almouchie 06-15-2006, 05:24 PM obviously Hewitt has the upper hand but u cannt rule out Rafa he is making a great effort to adapt to the game on grass I think his game can be suited he is learning to skid on grass instead of sliding on clay & with time & practice he will improve so will his serve as well sure to be a great match Neverstopfightin 06-15-2006, 05:50 PM There was an strategic aspect in the today match . Verdasco is lefty and Nadal when he is serving at the Deuce side against a right-handed guy he usually hits a serve down the T searching the backhand of his right-handed opponent. Today he has searched a lot Verdasco's backhand with wide serves when he was serving at the Deuce side and his serve was almost harmless showing that there is a great difference between his down the T and wide serve at the Deuce side. Though he has improved his serve regarding last ayer his serve has still a lot of up and downs and in some matches is quite harmless and on grass without a dangerous serve is very difficult to win matches gillian 06-15-2006, 05:52 PM Well, this is tough. They are both fighters, but Hewitt has won Queens 3 times and is far more comfortable on grass than Nadal. Hate to pick against Nadal - since I'm dying for him to play Henman in the semis - but I'm going w/Hewitt in 3. JadexD 06-15-2006, 06:09 PM From the statistics Hewitt should win. But maybe I'll go with Nadal in three. Donny 06-15-2006, 06:11 PM Hewitt in 2. And I smell a bagel! Norrage 06-15-2006, 06:40 PM Hewitt might have played bad in previous matches, but if there is a player that can tune up his game against good players (or in Grand slams) it's Lleyton...I feel he will play awfully much better than his previous two matches tomorrow... I still dont know whether he will win, Nadal is just :o But I expect Hewitt to win...Hopefully :) At least we have a good match on our hands..No question :) propi 06-15-2006, 06:42 PM Hardest task for Rafa here :o Vamos Rafa, go out and enjoy, any addictional preparation for Wimby is welcome, time to add some ATP points on the green thingy :bounce: revolution 06-15-2006, 06:45 PM If Hewitt struggled against Vicente and Mirnyi, what evidence is there that he's going to thrash Nadal? I expect a tight match simply because both are great retrievers and good from the back. Alexandy 06-15-2006, 07:00 PM As much as I want Rafa to win, I'm going with Hewitt in two. Rafa will probably be tired. Plus, Hewitt has more experience and more accomplishments on grass. But that being said....Vamos, Rafa!! You can never count out his fighting spirit. Corey Feldman 06-15-2006, 07:25 PM No doubt in my mind, Rafa will win.. 2 sets. Fedex 06-15-2006, 07:27 PM Hewitt in 2. Fedex 06-15-2006, 07:29 PM If Hewitt struggled against Vicente and Mirnyi, what evidence is there that he's going to thrash Nadal? I expect a tight match simply because both are great retrievers and good from the back. I dont know much about Vicente, but Mirnyi is always dangerous on grass with that huge serve, plus he's a serve-volley player. Scotso 06-15-2006, 07:30 PM Nadal in 3. landoud 06-15-2006, 08:01 PM Hewitt should win it redsox1133 06-15-2006, 08:05 PM Time for some payback.Hewitt in straight sets. no offence but i dont really see this as payback....hewitt has nadal head-to-head....i doubt lleyton is sour about nadal beating him at RG because he knows how good is really is on clay...he beat roger Doctor Dance 06-15-2006, 08:19 PM I dont know why everyone thinks this is easy win for Hewitt  Hewitt maybe 2 years ago would have thrashed Nadal on this surface but not anymore, he has been out of form all year and I think it is other way around, if Hewitt wins it will suprise me as Nadal is clear favourite for me RFitzpatrick 06-15-2006, 08:20 PM The Beast Max Mirnyi isn't really a guy you can count on in three sets, so I will think Nadal will win this in three at the worst. Though it wouldn't shock me AT ALL if Lleyton came up with his biggest win of the year. yomike 06-16-2006, 09:43 AM Hewitt is still a far better grasscourter than Nadal IMHO although it would not surprise me if Nadal wins the match using those atrocious topspin groundstrokes. Federer&Hingis 06-16-2006, 09:59 AM Hewitt in 2 easy sets. Viken01 06-16-2006, 10:02 AM hewitt in 2, he is better than nadal on grass for sure :yeah: COME ON !!!! stebs 06-16-2006, 10:03 AM Hewitt in two or Rafa in three. I voted Hewitt in two but I don't know, Rafa is a real fighter. supersexynadal 06-16-2006, 10:05 AM Hewitt SHOULD win but nadal did beat verdasco who wa splaying very well this tournament. Anything can happen with nadal. Like losing to moya. *sighs* Saturn66 06-16-2006, 10:09 AM Hewitt in 2. Angle Queen 06-16-2006, 01:07 PM Heart says Hewitt in two...brain says Rafa in three. I think the first set will be a throw-away...and NOT an indicator of how the rest of the match will play out. dmit424 06-16-2006, 01:11 PM I think Nadal will win 6-0 6-1. Bubba08 06-16-2006, 01:17 PM This one is tough, but Nadal in 3. Corey Feldman 06-16-2006, 02:23 PM match started: what a first point of the match.. hewitt hits a return miles out and it hits the net post and drops in  dmit424 06-16-2006, 02:30 PM Wow it might actually be 6-1 6-0 Nadal at this rate. | |
