Think the "bigness" of the moment got to Roger. Strategy, body language, unforced errors were brutal today.

Roger didn't seem to employ any tactics during the match at all!!!
He simply looked dejected throughout the match after winning the 1st set!!!
Where was his aggressive game? variety of shots?
Wasn't he mention last year that his goal was going to win French Open? Well, I couldn't see his determination to win it at all!!!
A match that Roger should forget!!

Hey, Iím a huge fan of Roger Federer but after watching him gift another match to Nadal with his countless unnecessary errors and free shank points, Iím convinced heís an idiot.

Donít tell me after playing someone 3 times in a row this year, and after coming so close in Rome that youíre gonna come into another final making the same shitty mistakes. Frankly, Nadal did nothing to win this match except return the ball the same way he usually does and wait for Federer to make another error. Those backhand errors you expect most of the time (even tho you expect at some point heíd have learnt better) but those easy forehands that he missed into the net to give Nadal that 3rd set break and those loose forehands in the latter stages of the match and tie-break were just ridiculous.

What annoys me the most about Federer is that he continues to take umbrage with the flack he gets about not being able to beat Nadal but when he gets the chance he plays like a pussy. Well, heís going to have a whole lot more flack to deal with after this one because he did nothing to put himself into a winning position.

Iím really pissed off at Federer, Iím not even sad that he lost, he deserved to lose, because he has yet again demonstrated that he doesnít know what the hell heís doing when it comes to beating Nadal, or if he does know he lacks the balls to do it!

. He failed to play an aggressive game after winning that first set as he has always done against Nadal. Instead of keeping the pressure on and forcing the issue he was content to stand behind the baseline and make error after error. What an idiot performance today. No way he deserved that match. The player who stood his ground won albeit with the same game he always played and Federer apparently having not learned his lesson yet played the same losing game for the portion of the match that counted post.

I hope this stings him for a very long time because he has nothing to show in this match that he can beat Nadal. After Rome I expected a whole lot better performance. He didnít even go down fighting in this match; he just went down.

Obviously he hasnít watched other players play Nadal. Obviously he hasnít yet realized that all that fucking topspin on his returns are fodder for Nadal. Geez, Roger. Could you have brainfarted any worse today?

Mirka has her work cut out for her trying to get you through this one.

How the fuck do you say Nadalís Bitch in Swiss-German.

A bit on the angry side, but I agree. Very disappointing effort by Roger, especially after cruising through the first set. After that, he just looked dejected the rest of the match and his backhand was amateur status, it was that bad.

Very Blunt, but the sad reality is that is true.

Unfortunately, I don't think Roger looks at it as a bad loss. I don't think he will get it into his head about Nadal till Rafael beats Roger in a major on a surface other than clay.

Which don't be surprised if Nadal beats Roger at the U.S. Open.

Yes, I was angry when I wrote the above but I'm not hurt at all that he loss. I'm over it already and looking to get something to eat, lol. I'm just astounded by Roger's performance (or lack thereof) today.

And hey, if you can't bring it mentally in a Slam Final, your eighth! when will you bring it. Get where I'm coming from. A big moment indeed but Roger has been in big moments before (including 7 Slam finals) so he had no excuse for not playing his best. If he had played his best and lost at least you could still say he tried and was outdone. Today he was just outdone.

I still love you, Roger. Your game is amazing but the Rafa side of your brain needs to be examined, lol.

RG is slower than Rome by far. And if Federer was making this many errors not playing aggresively who knows how many he would have made otherwise. Nadal is so quick that he is able to get under slices and they wouldn't have affected him like they did with Nalbandian.

Dont know about that, the weather today should make that sort of play very possible. I just think he mentally collapsed after mishitting so many shots on the highbouncing nadal top spins.I dont think Nadal is ready to beat Roger at the US Open yet but certainly at the AUS Open.

Yeah, that's the sad truth.

I hope Roger will regain his focus for Wimbledon. Constantly losing to Nadal has got to hurt his confidence at some point, even if he's still beating anyone else.

And if the courts really are slower and they may well be I guess, all the more reason to try to attack. I mean if he cant beat Rafa from the baseline on slow hardcourts how the hell does he expect to do it on clay?

Freeze17171

The slow courts had nothing to do with Roger shankings backhands all over the place early in points and his return of serve on the backhand side was atrocious.
