as its no fun that 1 man is dominating everything

if the rivalry is to continue for the good of the sport, Rafa should come trumps

Nadal, Agassi, Rochus, Soderling, Ljubicic, Ancic, Nalbandian, Haas, Kiefer, Davydenko, Baghdatis, Massu and qualifier Hartfield were dominated! Good thing most of them are very human.

I believe my very post on MTF was about how domination is actually good for a sport, any sport really.

Muhammed Ali revitalized boxing.
Tiger Woods made golf more popular than ever.
Everyone loves to watch the Yankees... just to see if they lose.
What Michael Jordan did for basketball.
etc.
etc.

It's been proven that people love to see records broken, and draws attention from people who would've otherwise not have been interested in the sport.

'I really thought I was going to lose that match,' Federer said. 'I was fortunate, for I was not doing too well.

On another day fit for a Paris postcard - breezy, but sunny and 80 degrees - much of the crowd was late to show up. Federer was, too, losing three of his first six service games while Nalbandian served well, held easily and won five consecutive games.

'To play in our first Grand Slam final against each other, I think that's quite special, you know, No. 1 and No. 2 in the world,' Federer said.

I just fear that Roger might lose a little bit of motivation for the next years if he wins this. So as much as I prefer him over Nadal, I wouldnt be too sad if the Spaniard won today.

I think it would be very very good for the sport of Federer WON today.

Yet another Halba Federer thread. Federer-Nadal, Nadal-Federer....

There are more than 2 players on the tour you know!

If the rivalry is to continue then Fed will have to start winning some of these. Otherwise there will be no rivalry.

And Fed winning today is the best thing that could happen to tennis. It throws a lot more fuel on to the fire of the rivalry, it gives people the excitement of someone chasing the calendar slam and it gives Rafa competition on clay. These are all great things for tennis.

well there appears to be only 2 decent players on tour worth talkin about

the rest are nowhere near the class

Fed should just win it and get the achievement and fuss over with.

Not everyone likes tennis to see domination or amazing performances.
Some of us like drama and excitement and unpredictability.

Well I think whoever wins this, it's still domination. Instead of one player winning the majority of big titles, we have two. Everyone else is fighting over the scraps at the moment. As for the good of the sport, I don't care about the good of the sport. I want Roger to win.

I can't really see why you quoted me here but maybe I'm thick!
I just don't see a link between ur point and mine. Or even how your point argues against mine.
I'm not saying whatever happens tomorrow won't be some form of domination. I'm just saying not every likes domination in general. People like me prefer unpredictability.

Federer winning will also be good for the sport, if not better

It's more likely I'm thick and read you wrong, honestly ;)

A bit more unpredictability would be good though. Except Roger at Wimbledon. I have liked that kind of predictable :)

It's not the end of the sports if roger wins today. nadal, nalby and some potential guys like Djokovic can still beat him, so you'll never get bored.
I'd give roger the credit if he wins today, sure he deserves that.
