poor Henman..... or should I say poor andre (has he recuperated enough to win this round?)

Deboogle!.

Someone who saw him practicing with Andy today said he looked to be in good shape and Andy in his blog said Andre was "fit and healthy" or something like that.... so. I dunno.

That could be a tourney final though, and probably would have been a couple years ago. Now it's first round. Ouchie.

Why is it funny? I think it's a very interesting matchup, plus it let us talk about tennis that's not related to Roger, Rafa, Ljubicic, or some combination thereof.

Great match up, but unfortunate for the whole week that one of them bows out early. also they both need matches, and Henman for some reason never plays Nottingham the following week and i doubt agassi would, so a 1st round loss here is not gonna be good for either.

Go Andre!

It's ok if Toothpick Tim loses here, it's not like it's Wimbledon where we have to sit through an hour of ESPN trying to pull at our heartstrings with cheesy clips and sad music when he fails to win the title yet again. ;)

I'd give the edge to a fit Henman in this match but if the back is bothering him then it is a different story. I read a few weeks ago that he said he felt fitter than he had done for a long time...

he said it reacted because of the training from clay to grass..

Practice means nothing  You cant really tell how a player is from practice. Alot of players are amazing in practice, and absolute clowns on the matchcourt. That being said, andre is still one of the best condintioned players out there (even now I would have thought).

The result wasnt a surprise for me, both players are likely to retire at the end of the year I am guessing. Not sure about tim, but I dont see him raising his ranking much and I think andrew will experience a huge drop too.

I watched the match and Henman played the best I have seen for over 2 years....hitting some incredible forehand winners and serving well. His volley sucked a little - he seemed stiff when hitting it and didn't bend enough...I'd say the back might have been a problem there.

Highlight of the match - Henman recovering from 0/40 when serving for the 1st set - 3 big serves and 2 forehand winners.

Match summed up in the 1stset really - Agassi hitting 75%+ serves to Henman's forehand and Henman won 42% of return points

Agassi played really well in patches but not consistent enough.

Great win for Tim...he played really well and will be hugely dangerous this week and for the rest of the year if he maintains this form and keeps fit.

Yeah I watched it too and apart from the first 6 games or so Andre was never in the match at all really. Henman played well with him serving as big as I have ever seen him. Due to Henman's serving and Andre's rustyness he never really got a chance to find his rhythm and thats what its all about for Andre at this stage of his career. It would of been better if he had made his comeback on a hard court or something slower as the conditions at Queens are so quick that the points are over after a maximum of 3 to 4 shots. Grass is good for his body but overall not helpful for his tennis as you just cant get going once under pressure from the other player.

On the brighter side the conditions are alot slower at Wimbledon so he will be able to get in the points more but depending on the draw he'll do well to make the 3rd round which is a shame.

I didn't have the feeling that Agassi played crappy. But Henman really played a good match. A good serving performance and some solid net play and attacking when possible. Also there were some good 10+ shot rallies from the baseline between the two. Andre had triple break points and double break points and a few more single ones, but couldn't convert. That was a tough matchup for both, I'm sure Henman is lucky to be through it.

Andre didn't play badly - he played like a man who hasn't played a competitive match in 3 months and consequently was a little ring rusty.

Tim was much more match fit and played the big points better and that's why he won, in a nutshell.

It's a shame this match came so early.
