Good or Bad for the Game

What Ljubo is doing in Press Room, even if some of the comments were not even bad, like today, when all he said, he wanted to see Roger win, because they are good friends, and that he agreed with umpire that nadal took too much time,

but in past he has made some comment, which i think can only help the game of tennis, Tennis needs someone like Terrell Owens of NFL(american football) someone who is good(top5) and does not give a F and says what he feels, this only brings audience to the game. seems like people today more like bitch fights between players, then the match today, for example look at all the threads, about what Ivan said, which was not even bad, and there is no thread about the match it self.
Ivan only says what most players are afraid to say.

So Go Ivan, keep Talking.

Interesting question.

I have said this before and will say it again. There is too much PR bullshit in the media, most of the journos are lazy, most players just give stock standard answers which are almost as boring as the questions.

Ljubo can say what he feels as long as he isn't offensive to midgets etc etc. Like when he said about injuries on the ATP.

"Players have been getting injured for years, they only care when it's a top player". Good that he said that, but like anything there are going to be times when personally I don't agree with what he says and how is that different from the real world?

Most people like a bit of heat, but that should not take away from the match itself. Example the Hewitt v Coria DC match in Sydney. That was some funny stuff, but all the people trying to blame the other player for the antics is hilarious.

Being outspoken is great as long we agree with what you say. But this is MTF where your lowest expectations will be reached.

I donīt care, I donīt take him seriously since some of his earlier comments this year.

Itīs good to speak out your mind, but if youīre disrespectful to other guys you should keep those thoughts for yourself imo("I feel Iīm the 2nd best player of the world -dude, your highest ranking has been 4th  -" "I feel Iīm close to Federerīs level -after that couple of finals early in the year-:haha: " "everybody wants Federer to win tomorrow -sounds a bit harsh towards Nadal if u ask me and of course thatīs not true-" quotes)

I'm indifferent to Ivan's outspokenness. He is no plastic fantastic that's for sure. I've been vexed at some of his comments before, but I guess that's what being real means. You upset some people. Perhaps other players will stop the ridiculous scripted comments like "I like Federer a lot", "He's the favourite, always, no ?" "Best in all history no ? " "World No.1, favourite, no ?" It's wearing thin Uncle Toni.

he highest ranking was #3.
He said he was #2 when he was playing like #2, when Rafa was just coming back and David was not doing much.

Tennis nobodies who are trashtalking while winning nothing is an attribute of a Clown Era. He and Kiefer having their best respective seasons is a signature of these times..

He's not necessarily honest. He might just be opinionated. His opinions might be totally incorrect.

He is outspoken. He gets off on being this way.
Noone really cares what he says though and I don't think it's good or bad for the game.
He annoys me a little because although he is a good player, I think he believes he is better than he is and his comments about Nalby in the past were a little offensive, especially considering nalby's superior accomplishments.
A mildly entertaining sideshow at best. At worst, the sad mutterings of a SORE LOSER.

Well atleast he has an opinion, whether I agree with him or not I like that he speaks his mind. He must be doing something right if he is the leader or something like it for the players union  I am not sure exactly, I'm sure Jerry/Ducky would know

I'm sure Jerry/Ducky would know
:D i do, he is the Vice President of Player Council. even that proves that most of stuff Ivan says is not as bad as it sounds, players on tour like him. and anytime you interview player that is not english speaking originally, you will get some funny sounding answers, just look at Nadal, his English sucks

Great!

I don't always agree with what Ivan says,
but this whole damn society is so PC
anymore is just rediculous!

Even more rediculous, is how the athletes are treated!
Every damn person under the sun can have and voice
their opinion, but heaven forbid if the people actually
out there do the same. :bolt:

Go Ivan! :yeah:

Ljubo is TOO honest and thats BAD. I have a friend who will do that. Last ear she was the most popular girl in school, this year, ses considering moving schools coz she has NO friends. What ljubo said was WRONG and there are more polite was to complain. Like roger in monte carlo asking the ump to give Toni nadal a warning. i didnt agree with him ut he was very polte. He questioned many line calls but remained very respectful. Blake, when he lost in the FO (cnt remember who) argued with the ump at the end. He said ALL he wanted to say but not the way Ljubo did. He lost so many fans including me. i was a big fan

I don't think it's good or bad. The only people that know/care about Ljubicic are the hard core fans, who will like tennis either way.
