Would you have cared if it was David vs Ivan in the Final?AgassiDomination 06-09-2006, 04:39 PM Just curious. Personally, that fianl would have been a disappointment. Allez 06-09-2006, 04:41 PM No. With all due respect to Ljubo and Nalby I wouldn't have watched it. jenanun 06-09-2006, 04:42 PM no.... i will watch world cup instead. Viken01 06-09-2006, 04:43 PM i would have cared if it was nalby-nadal tripb19 06-09-2006, 04:50 PM Of course I would have watched. Stupid question, I see that you don't give a shit about either Argentinian or Croatian (Bosnian) player. Would you have watched Blake vs Ivan? mickymouse 06-09-2006, 04:50 PM I still would. I'll like to know who'll win his first GS. That may just be a major turning point in that guy's career. I'd have been less interested in a Fed-Lju final. tennis_spider 06-09-2006, 04:53 PM Not at all. But I would have seen some highlights on ESPN ;) iloveupeterpan 06-09-2006, 05:00 PM I CARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! as long as DAVID is there! :):):):):) R.Federer 06-09-2006, 05:00 PM I might not have watched it live, but Tivoed it anyway for later mallorn 06-09-2006, 05:02 PM NO. I would have been too disappointed. fooclate 06-09-2006, 05:05 PM Nope. Maybe just check the scores a couple of times but not the -nail biting ,glued to the televison, hand half in the popcorn bowl and other on the remote- kind of thing. Just out of love for the game would have flippde through but efinately not for the love of the players. No offence ivan n nalby marti_228 06-09-2006, 05:12 PM Yes of course, not just because I'm Argentine but because it would have meant that Ljubicic had beaten the best clay court player, Nadal, and Nalbandian had beaten no. 1. They can't win against those two if they werent playing well. fooclate 06-09-2006, 05:16 PM Aahh. Dint look at it through that point of view. Good perspective! :D MariaV 06-09-2006, 05:18 PM No.   BlakeJamitis 06-09-2006, 05:21 PM I would have skimmed through my TVO version of it. If it turned out to be a great match, then I would have watch the entire TVO. Either way, it would have been a TVO mangoes 06-09-2006, 05:21 PM I think Federer and Nadal is a fitting final/end to the 2006 clay season.......... federated 06-09-2006, 05:23 PM Sadly, no. I'm visiting my mom in tampa, florida this weekend and if it was Ivan v. David, I would be heading to the beach or brunch instead of watching the match on Sunday. Now, Nadal vs. Nalbandian? No way I would have missed that. Fedal? I'm going to try to get my siblings to take mom out without me so I can focus 100% on the match. tangerine_dream 06-09-2006, 05:34 PM On paper I'm sure it would look like a disappointing final to many, but if you tuned in to watch it you might believe otherwise: it is always exciting to see which player will win his first slam title. Argenbrit 06-09-2006, 05:37 PM Yeah, but I really wanted to see a Nalbandian-Nadal final. David had a lot of chances to win that match and that final could've been possible. Very disappointing. *Ljubica* 06-09-2006, 05:49 PM Personally - I would have cared more :) I am sooooo bored  with Nadal/Federer all the time, so the World Cup will probably take precedence over tennis on Sunday. I just want some different people in a Final! And as tangerine_dream says - if it's going to be someone's frst ever GS there is always an added excitement. I just want some different people in a Final! And as tangerine_dream says - if it's going to be someone's frst ever GS there is always an added excitement. My thoughts exactly. I'm glad I'm not the only one. :) *Ljubica* 06-09-2006, 06:01 PM My thoughts exactly. I'm glad I'm not the only one. :) You're not  We are a fairly large minority!!!!!! Clara Bow 06-09-2006, 06:06 PM I would have been very excited. I am really hoping that David takes a GS title soon so I would have been very interested in it. Plus, as Tangy noted- both finalists would have been first time slam winners no matter what the outcome and that can be fun to see. I believe Mexico is playing on Sunday, so I may have had WC on one tv and tennis on the other. Truth be told- I am so nervous about this Sunday's final because I want both players to win that I am thinking of going out to watch WC with hubs and friends while Tivoing the RG final and watching the final later after I know the result. Wimpy- I know, but I can sometimes get sick to my stomach and shakey when watching a sports event that I have very high emotions about so I may just go out and not puke. El Legenda 06-09-2006, 10:15 PM They all jump on the Bye bandwagon. want to help me push them off  lilfairyprincess 06-09-2006, 10:18 PM i definitely still would have watched the final!! Lee 06-09-2006, 10:24 PM I will be more interested if the final is Nalbandian vs Ljubicic. Now, it will tape the final, check the response here and if the match is boring, I will just forget about it. :p R.Federer 06-09-2006, 10:41 PM this thread shows who true fans of tennis are :wavey: Naah.... are the "true fans" also tuning in for the boys' and girls' slam finals? Or legends stuff? Or all doubles matches? Those are also tennis after all. Fact is, a big part of sports watching for most people is by aligning yourself with a person or a group, cheering them on, enjoying the win with them (and gloating about it on the MTF) or crying with them (and hiding from all the trash talking one might have done on MTF prior to the loss)! Deboogle!. 06-09-2006, 10:45 PM I would not have cared much about that final and I will not care much about the final we will have. So it doesn't make a bit of difference to me either way :) Action Jackson 06-09-2006, 10:51 PM want to help me push them off  I will think about it. Raquel 06-09-2006, 10:53 PM I would still have watched it, but definitely not cared so much about the result. athina7 06-09-2006, 11:05 PM Yeah, I would have cared, probably more than I care about this final, especially since I really like Nalbandian. Kristen 06-10-2006, 06:34 AM Yeah. I would have cared. I may have liked it more. But, had that been the case, it would have been nice to have a rafa/roger play-off for bronze. Not having one of them there on the final day would be a tad weird. Action Jackson 06-10-2006, 10:59 AM Yeah. I would have cared. I may have liked it more. But, had that been the case, it would have been nice to have a rafa/roger play-off for bronze. Whatever Nadal and Fed have the others don´t. stebs 06-10-2006, 11:51 AM I think Federer and Nadal is a fitting final/end to the 2006 clay season.......... Just as it was a fitting beggining to the clay season and a fitting middle. :) stebs 06-10-2006, 11:53 AM To answer the question. Sure I would've watched it but I wouldn't enjoy it as much. Action Jackson 06-10-2006, 11:59 AM To answer the question. Sure I would've watched it but I wouldn't enjoy it as much. I am surprised. stebs 06-10-2006, 12:02 PM I am surprised. Glad I could take the time out to liven up your day. Action Jackson 06-10-2006, 12:14 PM Glad I could take the time out to liven up your day. Made my day greatly. Sam L (WTAW) 06-10-2006, 12:22 PM Sure, I'll be rooting for Ljubo. propi 06-10-2006, 12:29 PM Of course, watching David playing is always a great delight for the eyes, he plays magical shots with a racket in his hands :worship: dorkgirl 06-10-2006, 02:45 PM Absolutely. I would have been delighted for either man. As it stands, i dislike Nadal and am lukewarm on Federer, so i won't be watching tomorrow. I don't care who wins. Doris Loeffel 06-10-2006, 04:09 PM Nope then I would have gone to my friends birthday-party - which I will miss now but I just have to go to Paris and support Roger ;) Scotso 06-10-2006, 05:03 PM Nope. | |
