Sorry Ljubo haters  Ivan in the Semis of Roland Garros!! I believe he is the 1st croat to do that. So much for being a clay clown.

Ivan sucks. :D

Good win for Llubo. Just goes to show that big serving, hard hitting, net rushing types can do well on any surface.

Benneteau was tight as hell during the whole match (Chatrier pressure anyone?), but Ivan played well for his standards. Congrats

No one thinks that :)

Great job Ivan, his first GS semifinal on his WORST surface and 3000+ points in the ATP ranking! :yeah:

Great finish of the clay season for Ljubo and Mario! :worship:

Good win for Ivan... an interesting match-up against Nadal.
How many times did Julien hold serve though... I think it was four.

Took him an hour to hold serve for the first time. Think it was *1-2 second set, after he just broke Ljubo back.

Yeah, the draw can do wonders, don't you think?
Let's see:

Benneteau defeated Baghdatis and Stepanek
Ramirez Hidalgo defeated C. Rochus and D. Ferrer
Monaco defeated Verdasco

Obviously, all od them played quite well until they faced Ivan the Terrible.

Way to go Ljubo! :worship:

Actually four Croats made it before Ljubicic.

Franjo Puncec SF 1938
Josip Palada SF 1938
Nikola Pilic SF 1967 F 1973
Zeljko Franulovic F 1970 SF 1971

Bravo Ljubo!

Yeah, just like Novak was so tight that he basically gave the match to Nadal on a platter, but Nadal played well for his standards.

Yes, all of them were contenders for the RG title.

Ljubicic was good enough to take advantage of the draw, like Henman in 2004. Nothing wrong in that.

Are you trying to compare Baghdatis on clay to Baghdatis on hard? And as far as I know he didn't win the AO. ;)

As for Ferrer, he may be dangerous but he came here in poor form and is far from being a reliable player.

Either way, your point relies on the fact that others had to do the dirty work for Ljubo. 'Nuff said.

.No. My point is that nobody expected Baghdatis to go that far in Australia, at least not at the start. If Monaco (for example) managed to do the same here, I don't think some people here would be so surprised and disappointed, as they are in the case of Ivan.

Either way, your point relies on the fact that others had to do the dirty work for Ljubo. 'Nuff said. What about Nalbandian's draw? TURSUNOV, VASSALLO ARGUELLO?

Do you think DAVYDENKO did "dirty work" for Nalbo by defeating MOYA and GAUDIO? Or GAUDIO by defeating FERRERO for DAVYDENKO?

Quite stupid reasoning... :(

I really dont understand all the hate that Ljubo recieves on MTF
Congrats Ljubo on making your 1st GS semi. He was really tight in the beginning of the match, and wasnt moving well at all. I noticed his leg is very heavily strapped is it a precaution measure or is he having ankle problems?

Good luck in the semis you will need it big guy

Of course they would. They were surprised just to see Monaco going 2-0 up and with a break in the 3rd set against Ljubicic.

Davydenko himself was among the favourites here, and Nalbandian beat him. And even yourself can conclude that Nalbandian's quarter had far more big names than Ljubicic's one. A couple of easy match ups, everyone gets them.

I was touched when saw your post! :) Haters are always haters,as much as they hate to see him improving, they can't change the fact anyway.

Finally I saw this delay match in ESPN2!Likely it's just a precaution measure. Also I found Benneteau smashed few times, but Ivan was not lazy to lob the ball, pretty impressed! :D This match is really meaningful for him,you know, the unexpressive and robotic man cried, he made me wanna cry too!

I hate to say it but Ivan gave Julien a lesson or two today  I really hoped Julien could really give Ivan a go but it was obviously not meant to be. He did miss a few great opportunities, especially smashes and that but hopefully this will be the beginning for him. Does anyone have any idea where he might be in the rankings next week? :)
