OMG I'm so happy for Novak, well done dude:D!!! How can someone not like Nole, he has class and his attitude on court is great, you can feel his emotion and he doesn't have to exaggerate his reactions like some other teens;) Well done Nole, awesome victory, continue your run boy:bounce:!!!!!!!!

Gael was exhausted at the end, didn't run after the balls like he did against Blake. But hey, after 3 5-setters, that's normal.

Good luck to Novak against Nadal. The boy is brilliant.

The only question I have is, has anyone told Novak about a little thing called volleying?

Djoko :woohoo: love this kid, he can play and he has such great behaviour on court, Andy Murray are you listening. Djoko  you are beautiful.

Good luck against Rafa you will need it.

Gael  He played as best as he could but after long gruelling matches he just didnt have as much pep left

The only question I have is, has anyone told Novak about a little thing called volleying?

He really does need to add that to his game

Beautiful day. Things are happening all of a sudden with Novak. Not much indicated he would do anything at RG. It's crazy. I thought he might have problems with Horna. I'm so smart.

I liked the handshake at the end.

They hugged at the end of the US Open match too, I think they're friends. Nice to see good sportsmanship...some older players could learn a lot from these two.

WTG Novak. I was a bit nervous he'd run out of gas after the second set, but he reeled off 5 straight games. Nice hug at the end too.

Now onto Rafa. I like both, but I'll be rooting for the underdog.

It seems like he is a basketball player shooting free throws when he serves, I wouldn't be surprised if he plays basketball , but yeah it's a bit odd and not quiet in rhythm

Novak played well. I think his mistakes today were uncharacteristic as he seemed a bit tired but when focused he showed his true potential and result is a bit misleading as he served for match in 1st and 2nd set but he gave Monfils easy games. It's gonna get tougher against Rafa so he will have to be ready physically and mentally

I think it was for obscene language... but didn't the umpire take it back?
Also, I think Nadal received a warning as well for exceeding the time limit between points... funky stuff today!

Yeah the umpire thought he heard something obscene, but he admitted his mistake and took the warning back, so Gael won't get fined.

I completely agree. It's nice to see a talented youngster who doesn't act like a brat on the court.

And while our commentators keep mentioning that match against Monfils last year at the US Open and accusing Djokovic of gamesmanship, we all know better. It's not Novak's fault that he had breathing problems and the trainer took over 10 minutes to arrive at the match. I remember Gael not complaining about that, either.

Keep it up, Novak! I can't wait to see you against Nadal with nothing to lose! :D

 I haven't seen those nut Murray fans around here recently. Aren't they devastated that Murray and Djokovic are good friends and could be playing for the same country one day?

And I agree that he needs to learn how to come to net. It was such a glaring weakness today when he would move into the court for a short ball and scamper back to the baseline. He lets his opponents off the hook by not finishing the point off at net. Nadal will exploit that!

Novak plays much nearer the baseline than Monfils and enables him to dominate from the baseline.

I do wish Novak would stop trying to compete with Maria Sharapova and the William's sisters in the snorting stakes.

It's bad enough that you call him an asshole. I guess you know why that's justified. But why exactly do you call him "chocolate cheater"?

......Aanyyyways, I'm so happy that Gael made his first round of sixteen in a slam. Great effort on his part. Spectacular effort on Djokovic's part to make his first slam quarterfinal. I'm sure there will be more of that. Hope he keeps Nadal on court for a good long time. He needs to be as tired as possible when he gets to the final.
