Does anyone else think Ancic is playing his best tennis ever and has a chance against FedEx? Worst case, I like Ancic plus handicap. At 8:1 or better, you gotta think the upset is worth a shot.

Also, looks like Djokovic will beat Monfils. This Djokovic kid is 19 and maybe too young to know any better. Is he playing unconscious enough to catch Rafa off guard?

I see some value in a few futures now the QF are pretty much solidified. Ancic, Davydenko, and Djokovic will all see some play from me.

Stay here long enough & you'll see over & over again people come on & say
"X is playing well & I think he's worth a shot against Fed/Rafa"
It never works. If you have to bet against one of those 2, bet they'll lose a set, it's much more realistic.

Ancic had problems with his fitness and had cramping in the final set, I'm not even sure how he managed to get past Robredo. Federer found his form against Berdych, and I doubt Ancic has the game and the stamina to take three sets off of an in form Federer.

Like dbnumberone said, the better bet would be for Federer to not win 3-0, but that may not happen either.

I'm leaning more towards Nadal not winning 3-0, he hasn't been dominating by any means in his last two matches, and Djokovic can and has played the best players in the world very well.

For me, Federer looked awesome against Berdych. He is far too good for Ancic. Ancic is on not a great claycourter. 3-0 Federer a great bet!

Just can't see Ancic winning a lot of games against Federer. His serve will just not be as effective.

Actually I take it back, Djokovic said that he is tired and his lack of any net game will severely hurt him against Nadal. It is very difficult to be baseline only player and hit winners against Nadal on clay and Djokovic clearly doesn't have the consistency and fitness to run with Nadal on long rallies.

Already have Safina in a parlay, Ljubis already won in the first half of it.

Havent finalized any other plays but am leaning Nalby x Henin

And Venus in a single.

If donkeys shoulder is still bugging him I like it even more but if Nalby comes to play he should have too much game for Nik.

Vaidisovas been in good form but I dont wanna read too much into the Momo win, while she played well Mo didnt do shyt all to make a match of it. The choking mo we're used to seeing came back. I haven't been able to find any info on Nicole beating 2 top 15 players in the same tourny before and she wont have a player self destruct for her this round.

Can only disagree. Hingis will win this one and it's the only match I'm taking. I haven't decided whether to back Vaidisova. I think if she wins, it will be with a lot of 'help' from her opponent so I probably won't take it. Hingis will force errors, create angles and win comfortably IMO.

I will delay as long as possible before laying Hingis. :)

This is clay, and Hingis's style fits perfectly into that. She is probably the smartest tactician out on the courts and she isn't beating herself right now. Heck, she challenged Clijsters at the Australian in three close sets at just the beginning of her comeback, now she is playing at a higher level on clay than she ever has. Clijsters hits very hard consistently when she is winning, but I can see her getting flustered if the ball keeps coming back and then start overhitting and making UEs. I think Hingis is a good bet.

Like others have mentioned, Vaidisova was impressive but Mauresmo looked like a terrified deer in headlights yesterday. She wasn't going for anything and just seemed to be pushing the ball back scared not to make an error and let Vaidisova dictate play. Venus won't roll over like Mauresmo did.

Wise words indeed. However I think you may be proved wrong in your last statement. For me, the Williams sisters are governed by 'dark forces' and it often seems these forces dictate whether Williams will win or lose. The outcome is often set in stone, but the route to the outcome is what makes the outcome uncertain. Lol.

What I'm trying to say in a strange way, is erm..oh I give up.

I agree Ancic is playing brilliantly right now. He's had some terrific comebacks lately, and has the heart to trouble anybody. But although I think he's more than capable of taking Federer to 4-4 situations I question whether he will have the shots to counter Federer's mastery and volleying. It would be nice to see Ancic take at least a set, but I think Federer will use the match to demonstrate his ruthlessness, much like Nadal today.

Djokovic will not be able to beat Nadal. It just won't happen. Nadal will force so many errors from the young kid, and the pressure Djokovic will feel will result in double faults and missed opportunities. He's had an awesome tournament but the ride is about to come to an abrupt stop.

Im a big Hingis fan so im well aware of her style and surprisingly enough I caught on to the fact that they were playing on clay as well. I watched her play Peer and im not sure if you did or not but what I got from watching it was Peer could very well have won the match. Martina had plenty of trouble holding her own serve and was lucky in that Peers serve was as soft as her own. She also had trouble with Peers pace off the backhand. Look at Martinas losses at RG through the years and what they have in common:

Davenport 95
I dont know the chick she lost too in 96
Majoli 97
Seles 98
Graf 99
Pierce 00
Capriati 01

big hitters. IMO, I dont think she can take a big hitter who can move well on the dirt if they're playing well, they would need to be misfiring for her to have a shot and I wont bet on someone to be off at those odds.

Yeah, and Peer has been one of the best players on clay this year. I think you're overrating Clijster's ability to consistently hit hard groundstrokes against a tricky player like Hingis who she has struggled in the past against. I've seen numerous times this year where Clijsters gets impatient, loses focus, and seemingly becomes disinterested and makes all sorts of mistakes.

I have to disagree totally, Vaidisova has been playing great tennis, ive seen her play against every person thus far in the French, imo she is going to be a great player in the future( Hence $50@ $51) You can say mo gave up, but imo she was being totally out played, Vaidisova to come back 0-40 down even up 2 wit breaks and win the game with pure hard ground strokes and terriffic 1st serves, she is a player of the future!!

Venus did well to fight back in her last game and she is in decent form, but imo Vaidisova will Win. Im just alittle upset about the odds shes been given, honestly a joke!

Vaidisova will win, not easily but with signs of her promising prospects gettin her thru

10 units Vaidisova $1.96

Above all else, Hingis is looking to avenge her loss at the AO, and Hingis is a great avenger, anyone that saw her against Dementieva will need no other proof.
On the other hand Hingis hit more UEs than I would have expected, against Peer, and if she gets in to a 'winners' contest with Clijsters, she'll lose.

Venus and Vaidisova are going to slug it out, and I see Venus coming through, so the value is with her.

Kuznetsova vs Safina , I'm not touching but if Kuznetsova can control her UEs she can win.

This morning, Kimmy had this guy serve at half pace to her and she was belting the returns, just heard on my local sports radio show - she is primed for this one and he return of serve will be too much to handle for Hingis, in that she is going to be in the backfoot at the start of every point.

End of the day she wil have too much power for her
