Rafa under the hammer....Fed next?

Now we have seen Rafa truly tested in a 5 hour marathon. I just want to see Fed get tested in a major marathon before the final. Like the AO 2006 where Fed got pretty much tested after 4R, i want to see him tested here. Next up is the Birdman so its not going to be easy. I hope Birdman goes for broke as he has nothing to lose - he's going to lose anyway.

Well, there's Berdych and Nalbandian. Maybe Robredo too. We'll see.

I believe Roger will be tested until his RG campaign finishes. Berdych, Robredo/Ancic, Nalbandian/Gaudio/Davydenko, Nadal... no easy draw, no?

who outside Nadal will test Federer?

I would be surprised if he takes a set
good luck to him anyway!

I just hope that Tomas will at least play a great match.

Yup. I cannot envision a match where Federer won't be tested.

Didn't Nalbandian come back from two sets down to beat Fed last time they played? On hard, yes, but it's not like David can't play on clay... And the fact that he actually came back from two sets down and won shows that Federer doesn't have a significant mental edge if they match up.

Ofcourse, Hewitt also had that comeback vs. Federer after being down 0-2 and since then, has struggled to even win a set against Roger.

coz Rog somehow brings his A+ game playing hewitt, but somehow plays his C+ game against other players (which is like a A game for most players)

No, last time they played was on clay in Rome, and Roger won.

Berdych and Robredo will be easy, his semi against Nalbandian will be an epic battle. Luckily he'll then have two days off before the final so he'll be well rested to finally put Nadal in his place.

Of course this is the dream scenario, reality might be somewhat different...

No easy draw for Rog...but that's good. He knows that he has to come to play now. No kidding around anymore.

Lol about his A+ game against lleyton. Lleyton became personal after DC. That loss was a huge blow to Rog and since then it has been payback time. bagels in 6 matches.

If only dreams could come true.

Rogi was tested by Massu. Granted it was largely his own fault, but he had no business playing a 4th set in the first place. If he is not in top form today Berdych, whose form has been steadily improving these last couple of weeks will provide Rogi with a real contest. Perhaps not on the scale of the PHM match, but a good contest nonetheless and he is not guaranteed to get through that. But the one I'm worried about is that potential Nalbandian match. That match deserves to be a final. That whoever comes through that will still have Rafa to contend with in the next round is a real shame.
