Mónaco is a clay court specialist and it is Ljubicic's least favourite surface - so I don't think it was so surprising. I am very impressed by Ivan's fightback though - considering he hasn't been playing so well lately.

I still think Monaco has a chance to beat him, and if he doesn't I wouldn't call him a choker, because he still hasn't got enough experience and because he is playing against the number 4 of the world. That's the same that happened with Tursunov yesterday, but Juan hasn't lost yet.

Monaco will surely greatly regret letting this slip. Having not seen the match, it's difficult to comment, but it sounds like Ljubo simply raised the game, instead of JM choking. :hatoff:

best quality set was the fourth set. lots of winners from both with almost no errors. fifth set has been shakey, both look tired.

Exactly. Just have a look at the UE made by Ljubicic in the first 2 sets and in the rest of the match.

I still wonder whether some people still believe that Ljubicic sucks on clay.

yes he choked, he wasted pretty big chances and made pretty silly ue in many key point which he was dominating

btw tursunov did not waste huge chances in the third , fourth and fifht set aginst nalbandain. just he could not sustain his high level of play with that style of game he has (going for broke in every point)

or ljubo just fought hard and played smart to get back in the match, thereby outplaying monaco. juan did nothing wrong in the fourth set btw, ljubo was amazing there

of course ivan fought very well, he played very consistent even there were a lot of long rallies but monaco wasted a lot of chances, he did not play as well as in the first two sets.
