He's looking good considering he has'nt played competitivley on clay for a couple of years (he's had an easy draw thus far though)...Nadal will crush him in the 4th round

Nadal still has to beat Mathieu first...a tougher matchup than you think!

Crush i don't think so...Hewitt has beaten nadal last year(early last year) on a hardcourt but still maybe Hewitt and Nadal don't matchup well?

On a claycourt its totally different...on a faster surface Hewitt would have a much better chance. Hewitt will struggle as he just doesnt have the groundstrokes to penertrate Nadal on this surface...it will be interesting but I expect Hewitt to be under the cosh for pretty much the whole match

hmmm. one has played six matches on clay in two years, the other has won 55 in a row...

*does thing with hand and the weight scale, you know, where one goes up, the other goes down*

well beware of the man who has nothing to lose..hewitt ranked 14...nadal ranked 2...hewitt may go for his winners, and he is good at the net, he's a top player so who knows

Yes, Lleyton seems relax but focused out there, and could trouble Nadal if he's on fire.

And who knows about an on fire PHM, supported by the crowd, playing his hell and upsetting Nadal ? Dreaming is not forbidden.

Hewitt is definately playing alot better then he was at the start of the year. He's being very aggressive - but nadal is a completely different competitor to those he's won against.

I think it will be a very interesting match, but nadal will win.

Good match, Lleyton!!! :worship:

And a 4th round is already more then I thought would happen, especially with only 1 clay match under his belt going into this tournie.

Hewitt beat Guga in straight sets in 2001 in Florianapolis, quite possibly his best win ever in one single match

He beat Costa in the 2000 DC final, the infamous spitting incident, reason why he refuses to go to Spain and play

hardcourt but still maybe Hewitt and Nadal don't matchup well?

not a good match up for hewitt
the fact that nadal pushed hewitt to the limit on faster surfaces even 2 years ago is far more telling then the actual head to head
