4R Gaudio v Davydenko who will win this

My money's on davydenko. Far Far too consistent a player. Hammered Moya in straights whereas Gaudio struggled in 3 tight sets against a choking Ferrero and played crap against Korolev.

If Gaudio brings his A game has a chance but Koyla plays like a top 5 rank player(seeded 6)

Gaudio is playing like a 20 rank player

Yep. That sums it up nicely.

Let´s hope Gaudio can make it............
Nikolay is a good one, but i´d rather see Gaudio in the quarterfinals.............

Gaudio because:

1. He is way cuter than Davydenko
2. He is in my fantasy team
3. Brad Gilbert said so today

Seriously, it looks like the Russian has a much better chance...

Gilbert also said Moya would beat Davydenko. He has no faith in Kolya.

I am torn. I like Kolya more but Gaston is on my fantasy team.

A hard one to pick.
I think Davydenko will win, but I want Gaudio.

Davydenko. If it's tight Gaudio will collapse like a house of cards. What Gilbert knows about clay court tennis wouldn't fill a postcard.

This is probably the toughest match to call in the tournament, equal with Fed-Nadal.
I'd give Davydenko a 55% chance of winning. Same as Nadal over Federer.

Davydenko. Besides, he's in my fantasy team and I already lost Gonzo!

But seriously, Davy's been playing much better than Gaudio.

funny because the same thing could be said about Davydenko

After beating Ferrero in straight sets, for sure Gaudio won't be able to fly under the radar anymore like he wanted to. So it depends whether the increase of expectations on him will affect his attitude on court.

Could be, but not by me.

I have faith in Gaudio :bigclap:

But, like someone said, when Gaudio is in the spotlight he tends to underachieve :o:

I remember in Roland Garros 2005 where everyone was hoping for another great showing of Gaston at Roland Garros and because of the preassure he said he couldn't win RG and Tanked the match against Ferrer

I wouldn't call leading 4-0 in the fifth set and being outplayed for the next 6 games "tanking"

I'm a fan of Gaston and i don't really think he "Tanked"

But, i remember him being very negative about his chances at the tournament and i believe that affected him in that match.

If Brad Gilbert picked Gaudio, then obviously Davy will win.

Davy. This isn't even a "yay he's Russian" thing. I just despise his game. But he's been playing better. I hope Gaston wins, though. It'd be cool if Gaudio made the semis, it'd at least look good on his resume after that "fluke" win a few years ago.

Hey, how about extending the miracle to the semis, Gaston?
