Kiefer is tired
it's normal after his great efforts against gicquel

LOL

He's probably tired after beating Gicquel in 5 long sets AND then having to take his top off and throw it into the crowd - physically it all got too much for him.

Whatever the reason is, I'm not sorry he's gone.

Chicken. Always when He feels that He will be trashed he retires. Remember last year in RG

@Shotgun Blues: Sorry, but your reaction isnt really appropriate IMO.

Well shit. :( But I saw the scratches on his knees in the locker room after the match against Gicquel. He even mentioned it on his site, so I guess its probably that.

Is this a result thread? If so, I don't see anything wrong in being happy for the fact that one of my favourite players reached the 4th round.

Well, you made it sound like Berdych just won a 5 set epic match instead of winning by retirement of his opponent after one set. If my favorite player wins like that, I dont go "wohooo, he did it!". More like "Oh, sad that he won like that, but I am happy that he is in the next round." Do you understand what I mean?

He wouldn't retire just because he lost the first set.

Coria out, Roddick out, now Kiwi out. Hewitt's the only one left to cheer against.

Berdych is playing lights out, if Fed advances like he is supposed too, it will be a hell of a match, Roger will need to bring it.

There are posts in this same thread that are much more likely to be criticized than mine. Give me a break.

True. :) But

They're just haters who are happy that Kiefer lost. Didnt matter against who. So my efforts would be completely worthless.
And more importantly: they werent there when I wrote my first posting in this thread. :)

But since you're absolutely not willing to understand my point, I'll just stop it at that. No hard feelings.

Okay, next time a favourite of mine wins by retirement, I'll make sure to express my feelings in another way, or better, to not express them at all.

From Chris Fowler, Kiefer has wrist injury :sad:That's strange, the articles I've found on German websites just say he was "entkräftet", which means jaded, exhausted. They don't mention a wrist injury.

If that's your choice, then so be it.
I don't understand what my comment about Kiefer has anything to do with being a Federer fan, but I assume that you saw my signature and decided to bash Federer for some reason.

I have hope it's nothing too serious at all :) For example ARD mentioned it is his left wrist. Maybe only sprained. But hopefully it's not the ultimate demage because otherwise he had to retire IMMEDIATELY and not at the end of the set and it would have been his right wrist which has a long injury history.

Shotgun Blues, nothing wrong with your reaction. You don't need to be sad because Berdych made the next round, it's not his and not your fault Kiefer had to retire :) :yeah:

Jogy, you're always so harsh. but I partially agree with you. Such comments most likely come from fans who have no empathy at all or who have never been through anything like we have been already with our favourite players. Should it happen some time that their favs have to retire from matches due to broken wrists, raptured ankle ligaments, lose 18 months due to a demaged shoulder or being out twice three months for consecutive seasons due to injuries and such stuff, they could eventually think differently and think twice about that. ;)

And ppl could try to be more respectful. I dont like Almagro, but I did I say something like "Fuck yeah, he lost!" in the Blake-Almagro thread? Nope.

I guess I should've been more respectful, too.
I don't like Kiefer at all, in fact I dislike him immensely because of his frequent bizarre behaviors on and off the court, but now that I know that he is injured and his fans are hurting, I wish him a quick recovery.

It is a shame - he worked very hard to get out of that mess in the Gicquel match and finally endured - and then can't complete his next match.
