1) He's on the Chatrier court, and he'll have a load of French supporters backing him.
2) Hewitt is pretty average on clay.
3) Hewitt hasn't looked the same player since coming back from injury/having his kid.
4) Hewitt lost to Marcos Daniel recently on clay. Montcourt destroyed him in the 1st Round at RG.
5) Montcourt has curlier hair.
6) Montcourt has a cooler name.
7) Montcourt has my support
8) Because I said so.

Sorry darling, I think it comes down to whether or not Hewitt wants to have a date with your other sweetheart in a couple of days  :p ;) Out of curiousity, should Montcourt meet Nadal, which one wins your loyalty?

:rocker2:

Hewitt enjoys very hostile crowds; Davis Cup in Brazil and Spain beating top players and againgst extreme crowds.

Erm....toughie

Nadal gets the edge, because while he's still in the tournament there is no chance of Federer winning RG ;) :p

Wow. I'm convinced. I think the curlier hair one sealed the deal.

Ignoring that he hasn't played much this year and when he has played hasn't exactly been er, his best... am I the only one who doesn't consider hewitt crap on clay? ;) He's certainly a better hardcourt player, but his record at RG when he was "in his prime" wasn't really anything to snub your nose at. In the past few years he's lost to Canas, Robredo, Gaudio and Ferrero at RG. It's not like he's been taking bad losses there

You support for Nadal appears to result from your hostility to Federer.

Poor Mathieu is down 1-4 in first set. Whoever is mentioned to win Roland Garros and even one match sometimes, loses. (I guess my Monfils bet loses to Dick Norman today at this rate :scared: ) Wake up, Mathieu, allez :)

I thought the frenchman might stand as a chance as possible
as hewitt will not blow him off court
with the crowd behind him he can fight
but Hewitt willl have enough in him to get past an average player
even on clay
I might be wrong

but

Chocobo

Seems Hewitt is not the fighter he used to be...he just seem unconcerned, not even a "come on" yet

Yeah...Too bad, Montcourt had his chance but Hewitt better played the important points...

It will be hard from now on

And about Lleyton's "Come on" screamings, I spoke too fast

Deea
06-01-2006, 10:38 AM
Oh my :o The second set might be a very quick one for Lleyton..he's already up 4-1! :scared:

Does anyone think Montcourt is ready for a 5 setter???

He's average for Hewitt on clay, not simply average. :p

Hewitt back winning is good news for men's tennis...in my humble opinion.

NYCtennisfan
06-01-2006, 01:18 PM
There was no way that Hewitt was losing today if he played anything of his game. He's got a good chance to get to the 4th to take on Nadal since it's Hrbaty next. 4th round would be a very good result for him.

Hum...If you think that he choked serving for the first set you obviously didn't see the match. Hewitt just won the points, that's all...breaks happen in tennis

Because someone has "Mathieu" in his name doesn't necessarily mean he's a choker
