I remember the super 9 events... They're not that old, but you're probably going beyond memory of a fair number of posters in here. :)

I remember the Super 9's. Most of them are now Masters Series but I am sure there was one in Stockholm at one point?

The Tennis Masters Series started in 1990 with the current line-up of tournaments, except for Madrid. From 1990-94, the indoor hard Super-9 took place in Stockholm, in 1995 in Essen, from 1996-2001 in Stuttgart, and from 2002 on in Madrid.

Count me in. And The Nasdaq will always be The Lipton.

I still call it The Lipton, or Key Biscayne.

When did all this Miami crap start? it's Indian Wells, then Key Biscayne, then the women head off to Amelia Island and Hilton Head and the men to Houston and Estoril and Barcelona.

I do remember the Lipton (my brother has a shirt from the pre-Erricson/Nasdaq era, the only artifact I have seen that proves it was once the Lipton), but the rest of the Super 9 is beyond my time.

Thx....I know of them, I just don't remember watching them or noting their results or anything. Basically, I've read about them after the fact.

And I'm not old, I just follow Marcelo Rios since I was a child and he won many Super 9 titles. :worship:

The match Rios played to beat Andre in the 1998 Key Biscayne final was perhaps one of the greatest single displays of tennis I have ever seen :worship:

The great thing about Rios is he won 5 Super9/TMS titles but each one was a different one (Indian Wells, Key Biscayne, Monte Carlo, Rome, Hamburg).
