I love when Rogi wears his red bandana!! Go, ROGI, beat AA! Doris Loeffel 01-14-2004, 04:15 PM Thanks a lot Ester!! Great ones!! I like 6, 8 and 12 best ;) ytben 01-14-2004, 07:44 PM thank you for sharing esther :) faboozadoo15 01-14-2004, 08:46 PM 9 is awesome... looks like he's smiling. i also liked 12 or 13 very much but they are all awesome! thank you very much... i don't think the quality is bad at all, by the way... they're as good as all the other photos... esther 01-15-2004, 03:00 AM Hehe I’m glad you like the photos, its weird because they are REALLY clear when I look at them on my computer, but when I look at them from the attachments that I posted, they don’t look anything like as clear as they are on my computer so I don’t know what’s going on *confused* but anyway. Well yeah I’m not a Roger fan but I was talking to Legolas the day before I went and her favourite player is Roger and because I had a digital camera I thought I may as well take heaps for her and then just delete the ones that didn’t turn out too well and this is the first time I’ve used the camera at the tennis so it was kind of a test run before the Australian Open for me ;) The reason I went to Kooyong was because of Seb Grosjean. If he wasn’t playing, I wouldn’t have gone and if he wasn’t there then I would have thought the day was pretty boring. My friend went back today and just met him and got a photo with him so i'm insanely jealous!!! neway lol Roger’s match was actually the only match I saw in full…the match wasn’t great because both players didn’t play that well and I must say Roger is looking quite flat and I saw his match against Agassi this morning and he’s not playing as well I would expect. He looks really out of it but then again so do most of the top players at the moment so come next week…it’ll be interesting to see how they pull up. Anyway so I watched his match and then at the end of it went out of the Centre court stadium to get lunch and look to see if Seb was practicing on the outside courts and then suddenly I heard all these people screaming and saw Roger walking towards me (heading for the changerooms etc.)…and I went after him and was lucky enough to get an autograph. Pretty exciting hehe I skipped Andy’s match then went to watch Seb’s…got some photos of him too which I am yet to upload but will do that later. They didn’t turn out as good as the Roger ones! But those two players were the only people I got photos of but I didn’t like any of the other players. Got Seb’s autograph as well but was bitterly disappointed that he lost so badly, but after seeing how Agassi has been playing today and yesterday, I think he is the player to beat at the moment, maybe along with Roddick. Ok sorry that report probably bored everyone to tears lol but that was basically my day. =) esther 01-15-2004, 03:01 AM autograph: masterblaster 01-15-2004, 03:06 AM thanks esther ytben 01-15-2004, 03:40 AM It's not boring at all!!! I love reading this kind of reports. Thank you esther :worship: Will love to hear more of your reports in AO, any piccies will be appreciated too *hint hint* :) MisterQ 01-15-2004, 04:16 AM thanks esther! :) Dirk 01-15-2004, 06:12 AM Kooyong January 14-17, 2004 RODGER FEDERER [15/1/04] Q: Roger, what is the meaning of such a loss? Were you really into it? A: Yeah, I tried to play well but he is tough to play on any day and if you don't play good it's not enough so that's what happened today. Q: How much of that out there was Agassi playing so well and you maybe being still a little rusty? A: It's definitely a combination, definitely. I make him play better if you give him an early break or anything, it's always easier to play, and that's what happened in the first set so after that I'm just trying to stay in it, he can swing freely, I have to try to also keep the rallies a little bit shorter than usual because that's my advantage to beat him. It's difficult to say if it was him or me but it's definitely a combination. Q: Four days out from the Open, is that enough time to get your game to where you want it to be? A: Yeah, I'm not worried about anything. It's good to play Andre here and to see - there is not many better players around than Andre around so this is good to play him today. Q: It is obviously a good format, you get three automatic matches after a break after Christmas so that must please you, you get three matches to try and get yourself into some - - - A: Yeah, that's why I'm playing these events, to get matches and the Australian Open is early, everybody knows that, so I'm really trying to get the rhythm. I have got to go out to the practice courts a little bit more also the next few days to work on a few things because I'm not happy with the game so far so I have got a few days left and I've got to use these. Q: What is it that you are not happy with, Rodger? A: Just in general. Everything. Q: Does Andre amaze you how he keeps coming back so fresh and fit? A: No; he's a professional. His attitude on the court, his game and everything, is perfect for these events and for the whole season and for tennis, that's why he keeps doing well, and I'm happy to see he is still around after the Masters. He is definitely still one of the best, and one of the big favourites for the Open. Q: You're considered the favourite for the Open, do you worry about that sort of thing or you just let it go? A: I was surprised to read it because his hard court record is better than mine so I still need to prove myself a little bit more on these hard courts. Q: Andre says it has taken many, many years to learn what to do over the off-season to be ready for the Australian tournament. As a young player, do you feel you still have a bit to learn? A: I've been testing around over the last few years. I have explained yesterday that I played Doha, Sydney the year before, once I played the Hopman Cup, once I played Adelaide and the qualies out of Australia, so I have been also changing my schedule to see what is best and I cannot say yet what is best because my best result at the Australian Open is a fourth round and the best preparation sometimes doesn't mean you are going to play well at the Open, you also need a good start there, some luck with the draw, and for me it's difficult to comment because he has been around a little bit longer than me. Q: What about with what you do during the break, do you feel you have done enough work? A: Oh, yeah, definitely. It's been short, as usual, but I think all tennis players are used to it. I still believe I really worked hard and well and I was happy, the same as my condition trainer, so I feel prepared. Q: Do you think your Davis Cup experience will help at Melbourne Park; you have spent a long time on court here? A: Not really. It's good for experience in general but not really for the Open. I am sure he will get it together. He is just warming up here. esther 01-15-2004, 08:10 AM It's not boring at all!!! I love reading this kind of reports.
