The match is here ... everyone has predicted gloom & doom for the world's 8th ranked tennis star and one of people's most beautiful persons.

Even some have anointed Amalgro as the 3rd best clay courter behind Fed & Nadal. Blake who wants so badly to do well here has been studying Amalgro's game & is preparing to do well. And today, he received coaching from Mr. "I didn't even know how to slide myself" Gilbert. The look on Blake's face when he received Brad's advice was priceless. Behind the smile was...

"Thanks Brad but could you be any more presumptious. I didn't ask you for any advice Sir."

It should be quite competitive, both players are shotmakers and you have to weigh Almagro's superior claycourt game against his inexperience. Mind you, he should be very fired up for this one. I expect a macho contest of some kind as to who can hit the bigger groundstrokes.

Thanks for bringing that up. It was also very unprofessional from Brad, he is there to report objectively not to give quick tips to players. :o

James was terrible today, the scoreline only reflects the fact that Srich was even worse. If James plays like today it will be no contest.

Sorry if I misunderstood big-time!LOL no, James is still coached by Brian Barker, but Brian is not with him in Europe for some reason (he wasn't in Hamburg either). Thomas is there with him. Brad was just giving him some "advice" when he was up in the ESPN studio after his match. after Brad said that stuff I turned to my mom and said "gee how much was THAT worth?"

I agree Merton James was far from impressive.

Think Brad wants to catch on to any rising star out there right now? Wasn't he trolling to be Rafa's coach at one point?
Not only James looked surprised but the other guy (I forget his name) looked kind of surprised too. I guess he thought he'd have a new gig by now.

i don't think so - he signed a multi-year contract with ESPN last year.... probably pays more and requires a LOT less traveling than being a coach. :)
