Ranking Watch

As of 5/29/06 the ATP Site shows Willy's ranking is #128 which is up 38 positions :D I thought I would start this thread so we can follow Willy's comeback ;)

Interesting as of the 6/12/06 ATP Site rankings I couldn't find Willie?
I even looked by country :( I guess maybe since he has been away so long we will have to wait until he is actually back playing to see how his ranking goes :sad: I don't want to wait any longer :crying2:

Thank you dtiger it is nice to be posting here :D I figure you are right about the ATP doing some math due to the court decision. I hadn't thought about that, but then I try never to think about math :lol: And we still have 3 more months to wait :( We shouldn't have had to wait this long IMO :mad: :sad: But at least Willy will be back :) Have you heard any news about Mariano?

He is just unranked right now, he lost his Halle points from last year and fell out of the rankings.

Now it's a long way back asking for WC and fighting down there in the challengers. As far as I know he's in good shape, but my question remains whether those WC will be awarded or not.

Thanks Caralimon for the explanation. I know Willy is a fighter and he is unafraid to play challengers and futures to make his way back. I just hope he gets his wild cards from some tour directors. After all Willy has such a loyal fan base. I especially think Tournaments that he won previously must surely give him wild cards.

Hi dtiger I'm worry about Mariano also, but a poster in his forum said since the wait was long for Willy it probably would be for Mariano. This poster I think it was Rosie; but I'm not 100% sure of that, felt we wouldn't hear anything about Mariano until September :eek: I'm sure Willy is ready to play futures and challengers to start his climb back up in the Ranking :) But it would be totally unfair if he doesn't get wild cards especially from tournaments he has won in the past :(

Well of course as of 7/10/06 Willy remains unranked, but we are at least getting closer to the time he will be playing again :)

I can't wait until I get to actually start putting a ranking in here, but I guess I will have to wait a while longer anyway :sad: But we know Willy will be back :)

What a happy moment :D As of 09/18/06 the ATP Site shows Willy's ranking is #514 :) I finally got to put a ranking in :woohoo: Vamos Willy :yippee:

He's climbing on up at a great speed. No time at all until he's top 100 and that's the Canas that we all know. Can't wait till next years clay court season and American Hard Court. We'll see where he's at around March and later. Look out!

:woohoo: indeed :D As of 11/27/06 the ATP site shows Willy's ranking is holding at #143. Is he finished playing for this year? Even if he is, #143 is a nice place to start for 2007. At this rate he will be back in the Top 100 in no time :)
