I can't believe channel 7 got rid of live tennis (featuring the no. 1 seed) to go to Wheel of Fortune.... Signs are not good for JC, losing the first set and 3 all in the second. How is Ferrero ever going to break when the other guy constantly serves aces and unreturnable serve????? This is just depressing... one bright spot thou, he's wearing a new shirt, it's not fabulous but at least he got rid of the black one he wore at HK.

its ridiculous...but then again i've always hated channel 7

Ferrero lost to guccione 6-3 7-6!! it's so sad! :tears: does anyone know if his ranking drops at all? (since he made the finals here last year...)

hi welcome flora!
dont think it should drop coz agassi wont get any points this week.
yeah dunno what happened to him ...but i'm not too worried. he won two matches last week and i think if he trains well this week, he'll be right for aus open

01-13-2004, 07:56 AM
Don't get too upset every1!!! Guccione played really well and is only going up. 2 hrs ago at the tennis centre i was absolutely devestated but now ive put it all into perspective. I felt sorry 4 JC he left the court sooo quickly and i swear i think there was me and like 3 other ppl who were actually going 4 him. Every1 was rooting for the aussie.

:tape: I'm really shocked by his defeat...but oh well, he will at least get more rest before the Australian Open.

I read a quote from an article and JCF said that they only played one rally during this whole match and since JCF is best at rallying, i guess it's "right" to lose to the better server... but that means Guccione probably served really really well... JCF also said he wasn't too disappointed, which is good! Good luck at AO!!

01-13-2004, 06:27 PM
ppl who have such a big serve really annoys me...i dont think there is ONE person who has a big serve that I like...poor JC...lets hope that he doesnt do badly in Aus Open...Good Luck!

01-13-2004, 07:19 PM
He's lost 7 consecutive ATP matches so far... fortunately he'll win the next 7  ;)

01-13-2004, 07:31 PM
GOod luck at AO! it'll b awesome if he wins his next 7 matches :-D

i think ferrero lost just because he's thinking about doing well in AO, and he wants time for a better training.

01-13-2004, 09:28 PM
ohh trixy are you going to sydney any more this week? i totally agree with you...its not THAT bad...I know another person who was there and going for jc btw ;)

I'm working so yesterday was my day off so i got watch some tennis and i think i'm working the rest of the week so I might watch some tennis thursday afternoon.

01-14-2004, 02:47 AM
best wishes to him!!

01-14-2004, 05:12 AM
I don't it's too worrying for him to lose to Guccione, as he said he didn't play badly and wasn't really disappointed. Doubt that it's gonna affect his aus open campaign b/c i think he'll do well... let's hope the draw is kind to him

01-15-2004, 01:24 AM
The reason why Guccione won is a) his serve b) his "nothing-to-lose" attitude c) because Ferrero probably underestimated him/didn't expect he'd win at all d) his luck.

So, having the news that Guccione lost in the next round to Wayne, I really think that he'd have to have a little bit more of the four above points (however, the third would now be obsolete considering his win over the World No.3), to get more successes.

01-15-2004, 08:27 AM
yeh, good point allusion. & welcome here!!

01-16-2004, 08:26 AM

Sorry was a little slow in keeping up about this tourny..
Well, I'm a little disappointed that Juanqui lost in the first round. By the way, who's this Guccione, from what u guys have said, he's another guy with a booming serve??Oh well.... since Juanqui isn't really disappointed, I hope he does well in AO. Is there any way that Juanqui can defeat these big-servers??!?

01-16-2004, 06:18 PM
Maybe on clay!! :P

01-17-2004, 07:45 AM
