I still have Marach to beat Vinny Ice pending from a couple of days ago, interesting to see he went down from $2.35 to $1.90

I also wanted to back Marach earlier but line changed really fast...Wish i had that 2.35 line..I don't like the other matches..Horna and Davydenko look like sure wins but odds are too low for me..Seppi is not to be trusted completely, i think 1.36 is too low for him..

Hate to back Berdych, but he is a better player than Volandri and Volandri has been a great fade on clay as of late.

Vik seems pretty good value against Sanguinetti. Vik looked very good against Gaudio and must be very confident. Sanguinetti is very much in the twilight of his career and only beat Kolhschreiber on Sunday because Kohl picked up an injury when 3-0 up in the final set. Vik should have the tools to beat the ageing Italian.

So Vik to beat Saguinetti @ £1.62

Might double or treble that up with others as well.

Sanguinetti over Vik 2:1 @4.4 for me, on the other hand, he is going to play 2nd. So no pressure after Berdie victory...but still I don't trust this guy.

Can anyone explain the $1.45 for Gilles Muller to beat Leonardo Azzaro .. ? Muller has been having a decent season on the clay, making the third round at Estorill and improving his ranking to 66 in the world.

Meantime Aazzaro has spent most of his time on the challenger circut and is ranked a distant 309th in the world.

Unless Muller is carrying an injury or illness into today, he should be miles shorter than $1.45 to take care of Azzaro..? Thoughts?

Muller isn't exactly the most consistent player to be backing at heavy chalk. He beat Lapentti and Christophe Rochus at Estoril, which isn't all that impressive. He has also lost to Waske, Vicente, and Schuettler and really hasn't had a win over a quality opponent yet. I have no idea what type of game Azzaro has, but he did beat Gasquet and Gremelmayr in qualifying which is pretty impressive, and he took GGL to three close sets in Estoril.

What about Ramirez-Hidalgo over Lapentti .. the latter has been absolutely awwwwweful this year .. and RRH is in pretty good form with wins over Coria and Safin in Rome before a hard fought three set loss to Ancic ..

today i've plumped for berdych, kiefer and acasuso @ 4.67

feel kiefer might have enough to beat Gaudio, Berdych, well if he serves well he could beat Volandri easily, and I decided Acasuso was the safest choice out of the rest!

I support that 100%. If you have enough knowledge and resources available to research matches - go with your own thoughts. I find that the majority of times I tail someone I lose...probably because you're not really confident about that match-up after all....

That said, we seem to have got rid of most of the idiots who thought they could bet well and kick others so maybe the remaining guys are good to follow now and then :shrug:

Just to clarify, I don't ever tail other people's suggestions, I am my own man. I was simply expressing the fact that I didn't put enough thought into the Acasuso match, I just thought of his performances last week and felt that was enough to guarantee victory. It was not a good bet at the odds I got, at all. I have very high standards and am very hard on myself. I was disappointed in myself at what I felt was an oversight. If I continue to make these errors I won't get anywhere. The way the Waske match has gone so far has proved the original poster was correct in predicting trouble, and I was right to pick up on those vibes..

Waske is not in the same league as Acasuso but Acasuso's attitude is not there. I think whether Acasuso wins or not, it was a poor selection. So it's more about me than anyone else. As for Kiefer beating Gaudio, well I don't know about that either. That's why I only put £5 on this bet.

But if anyone thinks they can ever be totally sure about most tennis matches is not living in reality. I've been a punter long enough to know that! For example, who could have predicted Dementieva would fight from 1 set down and 5-2 down vs Henin and win. Who could say that Ancic was going to beat Blake when Blake had the match in his hands? To suggest listening to other people's thoughts is a sign of weakness is completely ignorant IMHO. If anything, it shows strength. Plus I was being OTT in my comments, just for entertainment purposes, you guys need to lighten up.

As for Gaudio/Kiefer, I think Kiefer definitely has value at +150 to +180, wherever you got him. Gaudio is a much more seasoned clay courter, but right now he is a mess losing three out of his last 4 clay matches to Malisse, Simon, and Vik here at the Team Championships. Once his head goes, he goes and I could see Kiefer pissing Gaudio off very easily.

I think we all look out for potential Gaudio or Coria defeats...but I fear this time Kiefer will just make too many unforced errors. Gaudio will have a lot of patience. I do hope Kiefer can win the first set, I think that is vital for him to win this match. Gaudio was a little unlucky against Vik, and Simon played awesome last week. Gaudio will not want to lose another match on clay before the French. It will be a very interesting match, and I think we'll learn a lot about both players.
