Mandoura, you are always a pleasure to speak with, a pleasure to play games with, and just a pleasure to know. Not a day goes by where you don't have kind words to share, or something intelligent to say. I'm not really going out on a limb when I say that MTF is all the better for having you around. :bounce:

For what its worth, here is a thread for you, my lovely and amazing Mandoura

My gratitude to Brian  is eternal.

As I said, this will be my little heaven. We have a saying here: An empty heaven is actually hell. So please come by as often as you like and crowd it. :)

You will need a pass though. Only positive vibes are allowed in here. We can discuss anything but let's do it with a loving spirit. Love and laughter are the best remedies for anything. Deal? ;)

Guys, has anyone ever played "Ouija" ? And what do you think of it?

The title is your domain Brian . You do what you want. Surprise me whenever and as often as you wish. :D

The weather here is going crazy. Last saturday we had a red sand storm, common this time of the year. Usually, however, it means summer (or hot weather) has officially started. So, I tidied the closets, put away winter clothes and put in summer clothes (one of the things I've been busy with and I kind of don't mind it) . Ever since, it's been terribly hot in the morning until sunset and freezing by night. :(

Ouija boards are odd...my cousin and I played with one once and were told we were the chosen ones. Okay...

Federerhingis
05-12-2006, 09:59 PM
They still have those? They used to say if you ever played the ouija that you'd be cursed for life. Weird things started to happen after my cousins played with the ouija like 15 year's ago. Supposedly you're to rid your self of it by throwing it away or burning it. I have no clue why is this, but superstitions aren't uncommon among latin-americans.

Supposedly I cant ascertain this the room where they played with the ouija started feeling strange. Negatives vibes were surrounding the room and the bed would shake, all these weird things were happening. I don't think my aunt would lie but who know's she might be a bit delusional and my cousin's a bit influential. They probably believed too firmly in the superstitions about the ouija.

When I was on another board, one of the poster was killed by drunk driver. When her husband went through her things and found some e-mail address she kept in her computer with other posters. He e-mailed them about what happened to her and he later became a member of that board too.

I totally understand. I was so not getting up to watch this match it's as much a mental challenge for Fed as it is for me. Nonetheless, I happened to have left the The Tennis channel on my parents bedroom tv so when my dad turned it on there he saw Fed and Nadal. He then was yelling my name out calling me to hurry up. He thought I had forgotten all about the match. I was like no I was trying to remain in bed because I can't handle the pressure.

Nevertheless, I was quite surprised to see that it was two tiebreaks already. I was like oh wow no straight set loss. Good thats a decent sign. That 1st set and that 1st set tiebreak was breathtaking I have to have that one in my video collection. That 6-2 4th set was almost as good as the 1st set he won in Dubai. What a battle and how much drama it was dead even right until those two match points. :worship:

I know the quality was amazing probably one of Fed's best matches despite losing. The sad thing is he still won a couple of more points and still lost.

Anyway I was so surprised to see Henin go down however, Petrova is on a tear. I am so happy for her she really deserves it. I mean gosh how many matches were in her hands but mentally she just let them slip away. This should really give her confidence going into Roland as if Charleston didn't do it for her already.

She's played 25 tournaments in the past year, and the only other person close to that in the top 10-20 is Schnyder with 22. It's like Nadia is the second-coming of Hingis. She'll get to #1 by playing a hell of a lot of tournaments, and won't even get to the final of a Slam. :tape:

Now come on Sol, Hingis never played more than 21 tournies, she did consistently play at least 18. People overlook it since the Willies only played under 15. In fact for a couple of years Davenport played more tournies per year than Hingis did. I believe in 98 and 99.

Haute

But Lindsay won 2 Slams in 1999. ;)

But I was just using Martina's later years as an example, of how she remained #1 without winning a Slam by playing a lot of tournaments.

Federerhingis
05-17-2006, 01:55 AM
At least she won most of them. She's still got the record for winning the most tier 1's in one season. 5 in '00. I dont think Nadia will reach number 1 she might end year end number one but even that is a bit doubtful.

Federerhingis
05-17-2006, 01:57 AM
BTW Lindsay never won two slams in one season. She won US open in 98, Wimmby 99 and Aussie 00. :p

Luis & Randy  . Thank you guys for your concern.

I've been having lower back pains for years. Very weak back  . Of course, 2 pregnancies did not help. I almost recovered after the 1st one but after the 2nd one, the attacks are more frequent.

I used to swim when I was in my teens, was on the team and then quit after a year or so. I also used to dance (ballet, jazz, aerobics and, of course, Egyptian folklore, i.e belly dancing  ) but stopped. I think because I lead a more sedentary life now, and as Brian  said, I am in front of my screen during almost all my free time, the pain is nagging. I started walking again and it helps. :)

And how about you guys? Give me a news flash about you? :)

Good to hear your back is getting better. :) And no, it's not good to sit in front of your PC too much. Walking is much better. :D
I've had mysterious lower back pains for years but ... miracle... miracle... they've been gone for some time now. And I pray they won't come back. I need to stregthen my back muscles.
But from smoking after Marat's shock defeat to certain Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo last week I got vertigo again. :( :(
Otherwise it's cold here, +10C, they've been promising rain for more than a week but still hasn't rained here. Hopefully it will soon. We need some rain.
I need to get back to work now. :( So take care dear, all the best to you and your family, hope Mostafa's doing well in tournamants. :wavey:

Thanks Maria. :smooch:

Marat  . But can't help loving him the way he is. :)

The weather here has been kind for the past week. It's still not too hot. The evenings are very pleasant.

Tournaments have stopped until mid June but he did well in the opening season. Thanks Maria.

Talk soon sweetie. :wavey:

We have little children killed by drivers under DUI. No, the driver was not drunk on alcohol but high on marijuana.

Phunkadelicious

I'm sorry to hear that Lee, but you don't have to worry because I am not in the habit of driving at all, let alone driving stoned or drunk. It just so happens that I don't have a car. If I were driving stoned, or taking care of little children stoned, perhaps we would have an issue. But since the only harm, if any, that I am inflicting is upon myself, I don't think that it is of anyone else's concern.

And the most idiotic mom of the century.

Yesterday, a woman, with her 5 years olds child in the car she was driving, ran into 2 cars in an intersection. The woman continued driving and left the scene but abandoned her car, which was damaged pretty well. She grabbed her injured child (there was blood running down her forehead) and tried to run away. There was very clear sign of the child's head hit the side window which was cracked.

Police suspected she was driving under influence. What kind of mother is she? :banghead:

Well, I do worry you may hurt yourself. I know, alcohol will do the same thing too. *sigh*

Yes Lee, I missed chatting with you. I'll be here for a while so check back when/if you can. :wavey:

For the stuffy nose, here's a tip: if you rub the bone just before your throat in the ceiling of your mouth with your tongue while pressing with your index between your eyebrows, the stuffiness clears. I cannot remember the explanation though. I received the tip in an e-mail a while back and cannot find it. It works for me. Hope it works with you as well. :)

It's must not be an easy task emulating Novotna? :tape: :awww:

I too choke badly when under pressure. My volleyball co-ed intramural team lost like two straight semis because I choked under pressure (well the first time it was mainly my fault but the second time around the team captain couldnt take it; we were both times so close from making the final and having a shot at the title)
