Thoughtful Thursday?

Well the fact that a thread hasn't been opened yet sums up the title as the coupon looks very difficult. Any thoughts?

1.14 David Nalbandian V Alberto Martin 5.00
1.61 Mario Ancic V Ruben Ramirez-Hidalgo 2.20
1.57 Fernando Gonzalez V Tomas Berdych 2.25
1.03 Roger Federer V Radek Stepanek 10.00
1.20 Andy Roddick V Greg Rusedski 4.33
1.90 Nikolay Davydenko V Nicolas Almagro 1.80
1.80 Gael Monfils V Fabrice Santoro 1.90
1.02 Rafael Nadal V Tim Henman 11.00

I've taken the plunge with a risky one:

Almagro(1.80) x Roddick(1.20) @ 2.16

Good luck.

No worries...I actually edited it to include the lines so you're quite right ;). But yeah I think it's a tough coupon. I've gone with Almagro because of his recent form and Davydenko usually allows his opponent a chance so hopefully he can continuing being as ruthless as he's been in recent weeks.

Also took him outright @ 51.00 E/W at the start of the week and really want to see the Federer-Almagro showdown in the QF. It could really be building to the shock for Federer to send him to Hamburg early rather than seeing Federer-Nadal four times in succession with Nadal winning each.

Have to live in hope - eh?

To be honest both Davy or Almagro are going to trouble Federer, and some nice odds will be given to both :)

I quite like the idea of Berdych.

The only sure one (apart from Nadal and Federer!) is Roddick @ 1.20

Might stay away until the 1/4 finals.

You'll always get a good price against Federer but it being converted into a win is another thing :p. I'd take Almagro in his current form in a heartbeat and feel I'd have a chance but the 'Toothless Ukrainian?' He played as well as he could in last year's Hamburg SF against Federer and how about this year's Australian Open QF - the less said the better :D.

Right now, I'll take Almagro against anyone besides Nadal on clay if the odds are 1.7+ or better.

I like the spirit :D - so who's it going to be to take out Federer then? Davydenko? Almagro? Nalbandian? Ramirez-Hidalgo? Or dodgy lasagna? :p

For anyone who has no idea take a look at this:

Decided to put a play on

Nalbandian x Roddick x Federer x Nadal @ 1.53

I really dont see much value on todays card so it's just something to keep me interested!

Gonzo vs Berdych is too tight to call so might see Berdman as value.

Davydenko is playing well so might have a small bet on that.

Dont really know enough about RRH to touch it, especially after Ancics wins over the last few days - Ive never thought he was good on clay.

Might get more value out of Federer, Nadal or Roddick dropping a set but still winning. Odds seem to be about 5 for that.

Went with two:

Almagro over Donky @1.78

Almagros run could come to an end anytime but he's showing so much consistency. This one will be tough, donky destroyed Verdasco and has improved his form. Risky play.

Berdych over Gonzo @2.26

Tommy took care of malisse and gonzo has struggled. Berdych has slumped this year but his good on clay, hope he can find some consistency. Another risky play

Lean on RRH but not taking it. If it was after almagro match Id hit it if almagro won but cant be certain. This is the farthers RRH has gone in a TMS and just really can't see him edging any farther, even against Ancic.

Just some thoughts on the WTA today

Li Na is value against Castano @ odds over 2

Hingis has a good chance to beat Dementieva this time, although she failed to take a set from her in their previous 3 encounters. If my memory is good, Hingis was fav last time they met in the Tokyo finals @ 1.40 so odds of 2.40 on her right represent value.Dementieva came out on fire and I don't think anyone could have stopped her that day. If she's not on fire today she might lose in straights, like she did to Clijsters some days ago.

Safina should beat Hantuchova.

Smashnova is value @5.2 against Schnyder. Schnyder was total crap against Ivanovic in Warsaw, and she didn't show much against Ani yesterday. Smashnova is a defensive (almost error free) player and will not destroy herself, but she lacks fitness.

Chakvetadze will trouble Mauresmo, she's agressive enough to do that, besides she's in good form and serving well.

Petrova might have to grind out in-form Zheng, who has fire in her forehand but destroys herself with the UE's.

Gone for Berdych @ £2.20. I know backing Berdych is always :scared: but he has seemed in pretty good form this week and its only a matter of time before he makes the breakthrough. Gonzalez on the otherhand has lacked focus this week and the courts don't really suit him as much as Monte Carlo does. Its really a toss of the coin but I'm going for the man in better form and more to prove and who is also the better value.

If this doesn't work out, I have the Nalbandian x Roddick cushion to fall on @ 1.47 as I'm pretty sure these two will win.

Thinking of adding Santoro if Almagro wins.

Santoro has beaten Monfils on clay, and Monfils is in shit form right now. H2h is 1-1, all 3 setters in 2005.

Monfils was a better player in 2005 and Santoro is a better player right now. Equation leans towards Santoro!

I need Almagro bet to hit!!!

Two plays for today:

Monfils x Gonzalez You should do your homework better Twisty..Santoro didn't beat Monfils on clay, it was Monfils who beat Santoro. Although Monfils struggled against Ginepri i think Monfils has more potential. I hate to put a bet on Berdman. Every time i hit him, he dissapoints me. He's too unpredictable at this stage of his carreer. When you think he's gonna win it, he always loses. Gonzo should be the better clay court player and his forehand should kill Berdych.

Also gonna keep riding the RRH train...See where it stops. Ancic is not the best on this surface but it's a bit a twist of a coin. Odds are above 2 so i'm taking RRH @ 2.4

Getting on:

Martin @ 5
Ramirez-Hidalgo @ 2.2

Martin is well over the odds at $5, and he'll be the first decent clay courter for Nalbandian this tournament. Ramirez-Hidalgo has been a huge contributor for me whenever I play him, and also like to fade Ancic.

Recurring injury? If so give him some respect...these players sweat it out for you and everyone else while we sit on our backsides.

Money is NOT everything and when a player retires injured you should at least respect that. Not his problem that your strategy for the day was binned....you could have played Santoro earlier for all he cares.

Nah man if he was so injured he woulda retired ages ago... yet he waited until after the TB.. he lost the TB so he knew he was toast.. .the theory.. might as well quit now since he cant win. Lets ask what he woulda done if he had won the TB? Sometimes injury just seems to happen when they are losing, not when they're winning.

If he had quit before the TB, okay I'd respect that.. it was a real injury... look at Ljub vs Gonzo the other day.. he rolled over his ankle and continued to play through the match knowing it was really over. I respect that.

Typical gambler's talk...in an average match covered in livescores, a gambler who has backed Player A sees that that player loses the first set. He gives up on that player..."Fuck you Player A. Props Player B. Too good today." Gamblers give up after one set.

Players...not quite the same. Yes Davydenko quit after 1 set. Could he have won the match from a set down? Quite possibly. There is an AMS next week which I'm sure he will want a few days off for, the French Open and Wimbledon in a month's time...he probably doesn't want to make things any worse. Why blame him....plenty of important tennis coming up.

As I say to most stupid gamblers in livescores...please respect the player.

If you have possibility to bet on Prague challenger matches, then I have really good tips for tommorow:

Vik - Llodra 2
Pavel - Roitman 1
