hi cindy, there's a good chance that i'll be going. i'll be coming in from sydney australia :)

is the tournament location easy to find? are there plenty of chances to watch players in practice, and take photos? are good seats available (centre, side courts?)

thank you if you can share some tips!!! :wavey:

Hi Via, i am sorry that i will not be there, coz i live in shanghai, so i asked who will be there, and then can you take some pictures.

i havent been there before. the address is No1 Guangcai Road, Fengtai District, and if you need some information, i will try my best to help you, and remember, if you get in beijing, need some help, you can call 114 for help.

by the way, will be shanghai for the tmc?

Via
06-12-2006, 08:50 AM
thanks cindy :) is 114 equivalent to 911 in america? i hope i will not get to that... i'll just be in for the tennis lol

i'll keep my fingers crossed for a beijing fan to drop by!

Cindy19
06-13-2006, 07:04 AM
No. 911=110 in china, that's not the same, call 114 and they will help you to work the problem out.

i hope i could be there too, but i haven;t time. will Arthurs play there?

Cindy19
06-13-2006, 07:06 AM

i have no idea whether wayne is heading that way ?!! but yeah the asian tournaments are popular with aussie players, so i won't be surprised if he is.

i love nearly all China and just came back home from a nice desert trip :aplot: to Qingdao for summer-resort every year, Xi'an twice, Guilin twice, Beijing for countless times  Shanghai... my hometown

not knowing when you came here while i am sure you didnt enjoy a real Shanghai at all. whats Shanghai? a magic place always needs you to leave a big room ready for it, to face its everyday changes, oh, no, i must say it with "charmings". too many ppl all over the world notice an open and international Shanghai while just when you get an implicative and traditional Shanghai at the same time, you can say you have come here ever ;) it is a fast city, really cute and modern :yeah: while it is slow and attractive with Chinese style too. you will feel that you know it at once when you land here but in fact when you leave, you just catch some part, not a whole one unless you have enough time to explore :aplot:

但是現時的上海,確實越來越有內涵,我非常愛這座城市 :yeah: agree with you, in comparison with historical city such as Beijng, Xi'an and so on, Shanghai maybe is lack of some attractions :p while it doesnt matter at all. for foreigners, being shocked by the resorts with a long history is normal and they do be fantasy !! i enjoy them too :yeah: but those friends need time to learn that historical resorts alone cant be the honor of China :aplot: but we must admit it is really really difficult for them to do that. who lets us China so complicated :p

our Shanghai has its own incredible historical places  just few ppl know them ;) including our local ppl, a bit too much keen on its open and modern side :p but i am sure soon Shanghai would give the world more real itself  to be frank, in order to learn Shanghai, China more, better to learn Chinese culture first which not easy at all

I love my hometown very very deeply! What a beautiful Shanghai! :D

I apologize if my word hurts you, but i really hate Beijing, people there are to shit!

Fans.

Fans.

I'm not that much interested in this year's china open to be honest, but I still need to go coz it's my work...and anyway it's good to see tennis become the theme for quite a time around the area.

Do not worry about the tickets guys...I'm sure there are LOTS of seats available, maybe not for the finals but u can alwasy find your way to sneak in...and if u really fail to get the tickets maybe I can help...we get some free tickets as the staff of one of the major sponsor =)

ahhhh i've read about the free tickets and stuff. but i assume it's a ground pass (which may be fine actually, if for example on monday when there won't be anyone interesting playing on centre court anyway)

trouble is, i haven't even come across any place selling magazines  i would be interested to read a chinese tennis magazine though with or without any ticket.

if i do get desperate i'll pm you violet :D =

where r u staying rt now via? I'm glad to help! =)

really, u dont have to worry about not able to buy the tickets. It works like it every year, when u get to the front door of the court, a bunch of ppl would gather around u and ask u if u wanna tickets, they offer a much less price. I get my ticket last year like this for almost all the time. But I guess the only problem u have is not speaking chinese huh?

i'm near chaoyang park :)

i can speak a little but i have trouble making sense to people lol i now know how people sell things here... i'd be surrounded by a few vendors and they will speak very very quickly and i wouldn't understand a word :awww:

my sister wants to know how you'd know the 'unofficial' tickets are genuine and you would be allowed in ???

i just came back from the saturday free 'open day' (so i was told). i didn't expect to see too many players, so i was pleased to see a few guys practising, such as ancic/hrbaty, srichaphan, schuettler... karlovic walked past just as i arrived.

rainer was very very popular with the autograph seeking crowd when he left the courts! i am guessing that 90% didn't know who he was  but he was very nice chatting to a few fans whom he knew.

people were still eagerly awaiting ancic when i left but he's working hard today and looked like he would go for a 2 hour session.

edit: for more info go to my tennis blog (http://viatennis.smakdesign.com.au/vtp/vtpblog/) :) i've posted a pic of mario there

The tennis magzine's office is located in chaoyang district ,seems like very near to you.I'd exchanged one for Thursday, but I think I can't go.
Most of the tickets the unofficial seller got are free from sponsor and they can ensure you it's genuine ,but from what I saw last two days, much less seller than before.

:awww: i was trying to look for you but didn't see anyone like you in your photos. there weren't that many female fans around, and i knew you should be where i was (near the four practice courts) if you had gone. so i thought you didn't go...

i heard him ask them 'what is it... feels quite heavy' so you see, i was within hearing distance from them.

i didn't go again sunday and today. i went sightseeing instead :p

Is Davydenko going to show up here?

Via
09-13-2006, 02:27 AM
looks like it

i'm still pretty high today... last night having cheered baggy to victory, though it's hard to say if he deserved it, as he was so obviously outplayed and outfoxed by the lowly ranked german for much of the match.

but marcos did show flashes of brilliance in baseline rallies, was hilariously comical when he was down, and too lovable not to be encouraged :p

in the end he won by a whisker, taking the first match point in a tightly contested 3rd set tie-break, then celebrated like he just won the title

will have more in my blog ;) anyway here to say i'm probably not going back today, it's too tiring having spent both day and evening there yesterday... i might not have run more than baggy but i had to climb like 5 storeys to get to the specatator stands at centre court, and it's not funny doing it a few times
