How do you fancy his chances?

Getting better by the day, I would say. He's even been to the final twice before.

I'd love to see Tim play Seb Grosjean in Doha, and not only because they have had a closely contested set of matches over the last 6 months.

If Nalbandian does end up withdrawing from the AO, then a Henman/Grosjean semi might determine who gets the last quarter-final seeding for the Melbourne. At the least, a final appearance would get Tim back into the Top 10.

As minimal as possible ... i can't stand watching his horse teeth. Takes away the joy of watching tennis!

By that logic you must surely think that Carlos Moya sucks all the joy out of tennis whenever he's on your TV, right?

Anyway, here's a smart little idea for you... watch his tennis, rather than his teeth. It can work wonders for your viewing pleasure sometimes. ;)

I think Tim has a great chance.

:haha: Sjengster. I never noticed Carlos Moya's teeth myself. I'm too distracted by his arms glistening in those cutoff sleeves.

Anyways, I'm rooting for Timbo to go all the way with this. Go Tim!

There's some pic somewhere of Moya where you can see the gap between his teeth really well, but I don't remember where.

No because Sebastien will stop him before

Grosjean, Henman, Escude, Ljubicic ... they all have good chances to win the tournament. My pick is actually for Nicholas, although it's a bit risky knowing him.

Holy sh*t, Tim's gonna do it! Whoooooo! Go Tim!:woohoo: :bounce:

Henman races to victory

Henman was always in control.

Tim Henman made light work of beating Sargis Sargsian to claim a semi-final spot at the Qatar Open.

The Briton's all-round game proved too strong for the Armenian, and he came through in straight sets 6-3 6-1.

Henman, the seventh seed, has started the year in fine form following a successful end to 2003 when he won his first ever Masters Series title.

He is the highest seed left in the tournament and will play Ivan Ljubicic of Croatia for a place in the final.

Henman broke serve in the first game of the match and was always in control from then on.

His second ace of the match took him 4-2 ahead and although Sargsian saved another break point to reduce the deficit, Henman broke again to seal the opening set.

Two more breaks of serve saw the four-time Wimbledon semi-finalist race through the second set as he continued his encouraging build-up to the Australian Open later this month.

Wow Sjengster, that so called witty remark is almost as funny as you trying to be funny. Better luck next time!

Well, considering that I wasn't the one who labelled it a witty remark, don't direct the criticism at me. And anyway, since you were the one who originally demonstrated the true level of your interest in and regard for tennis by judging a player because of the quality of his teeth, I strongly recommend that you f**k off to an orthodontist's message board and leave the serious discussion to everyone else. Thank you!

Whoever uses profanity is worthless. Grow up, Sjengster! And if you think people are watching tennis because of the game you are even more stupid than i thought. It's a shame that such a nice guy as Sjeng Schalken has such an idiot for a fan!

Whoa, hold on there, jrm. Sjengster is one of the most intelligent, knowledgeable and dare I say it *entertaining* posters on this board.

And most of us here *do* watch tennis because we love the game. If you don't, you're certainly in the minority, and maybe you'd be happier elsewhere.

Back to the topic, well I guess that will have to wait for 2005 now. Pity about missing the number 9 spot though, and he was only 2 points away (both on his own serve too....).

Wrong jrm, excessive profanity is pointless, but I feel that a well-placed swear word now and then conveys the right effect. I certainly see the point that tennis is followed for reasons other than the game itself, but you would expect tennis fans who post on this board to be concerned largely with the sport first and foremost. Anyhow, Henman has saved the hurt on your eyes by losing in today's semis, so it's up to the gnome-jawed Escude and the balding Ljubicic to provide the entertainment in tomorrow's final. However will you cope with the sight of them?

And here i thought you were interested in the game of tennis! Pretty destinctive descriptions! Poor Nicolas and Ivan, whatever did they do to deserve this kind of treatment? GO ESCUDE IN THE FINAL (still sad that you have beaten AUGUSTIN)!!!
You know how it is - if you don't like a certain guy you will find thousand of stuff that irritates you. Tim just happens to have big teeth. Am i not allowed to have an opinion ;)

like Schalken as a player? Lol, but that is an entirely different discussion :)

I guess betting too much on Henman wasn't
as bad as having little faith in him. ;)
