I really like Melzer for this match - need someone to confirm court speed please!

I'd actually go with Soders to take out Serra myself

Monfils should also win and might be worth adding to a couple of matches to boost value...Pavel and Waske ae outsiders capable of a possible upset.

Marin has a 4-10 record this year. His wins have come against Hugo Armando, Razvan Sabau, Florent Serra and Fabio Foggini. Now apart from Serra, my mum could beat the other three. ;)

He has also lost to luminaries such as Federico Luzzi, Ricardo Mello, Ilia Bozoljac, Yuri Schukin, Olivier Marach and Mark Phillippousis. He is not good. :p

Portas is not much better but he is coming off a decent tournament in Barcelona so hopefully he will be the more confident.

They're challenger players.

He got beat 6-1 6-1 by Philipoussis on clay.

...it is a lot of matches, but im going put some big money on it, since i can`t see any of this guys losing. Ancic is coming off injury and is not much of a dirtballer, but Kohlschreiber is terrible on clay...had 5 straight first round exits in 2005 clay season.

I agree, Robin looks worth backing as a dog. He hasn't played much clay as of late, but had a good run at Monte Carlo beating Davy and Potito, before retiring against Fena who had a great tournament. The faster clay surface should definitely favor Robin.

I'm not sure if I'm going to play this, but Wang is playing in Estoril for some reason, and he hasn't played a match on clay in over 2 years and has only 7 career matches on clay going 3-4 beating players ranked in the hundreds. Even though I have no idea how his opponent plays, betting against Wang at just (-119) looks intriguing. From what I can tell, Chardy is a young Frenchman who seems to prefer clay surfaces, faring decently in challenger events.

Portas over Marin. Just looking at this, has anyone mentioned on this thread that they've played 10 times before? I can't see this being mentioned, all 10 times on clay, and Portas has won 7 of them, including the last 5 for the loss of just one set. Last time they played was three years ago though. Also, was amazed to see that Portas was once a top 20 player in 2001, really don't remember him ever being that high....
Portas on Clay (119-132) Marin on Clay (70-84)
Also, marin has played 16 grand slam matches and has never got past the first round!
Where as Portas has got to the third round of RG on three occasions.......

Yeah that was my problem too, backing a guy ranked 522 that I have no idea about his game as a favorite isn't the best of ideas but it was just a slight favorite, and Wang never touches clay normally while Chardy has had some decent results on clay challengers. It was mainly a bet against Wang.
