A very short list indeed!

(I covered Open Era only. Let me know if there are others, but I'm pretty sure this is it...)

Remarkable achievements!!!

BJORN BORG @ Roland Garros: won 6 of 8 attempts 75% :worship:

ANDRE AGASSI @ Australian Open: won 4 of 7 attempts 57.1% :worship:

BJORN BORG @ Wimbledon: won 5 of 9 attempts 55.6% :worship:

PETE SAMPRAS @ Wimbledon: won 7 of 14 attempts 50% :worship:

Interesting stat. I think Agassi might be kicking himself for not playing the Aussie Open more foten when he was younger. Ah, so young and naive he was back then.

I wonder if Agassi and Borg would still be at 50% if they played 14 events like Sampras

It certainly seems that Borg would be at Roland Garros. He retired winning 6 of his 8 French Open events. He would just need to 1 more win in the 6 other attempts to have a 50% win rate (7 out of 14). Who knows with Wimbledon, though.

It's possible. Not inconceivable to imagine Agassi winning the AO three more times if he had played it an additional 7 times in his career. Or Borg winning two more Wimbledons if he had played 5 more, or one more French in 6 additional tries.

Anyhow, I'm not focused on the specific percentages as much as the fact that these guys won half, or more than half, of the times they played the event. That impressed me.

It is almostc certain Borg would have won more French Opens, no one could beat him on clay, not Vilas, Not Lendl,Not Wilander, Not Clerc.

He only lost twice in Roland Garros, to Adriano Panatta (even tough Borg has a winning head to head against Panatta, the italian remains the closest thing to a bogeyman Borg ever had to face) in 1973 and 1976.

I dont know about Wimbledon because McEnroe could beat him there, but on clay Borg was the king.
Undisputed.

Yes, Borg had the potential to win another 2 French Opens at least. As good as Wilander was at 17, I don't think he would have won in 82 if Borg played.

Interesting stat, but with the depth in men's tennis I don't think anyone will match those accomplishments.
