What's the difference between the two clays? All I know is the colour, so what's the point?

Can anyone tell me the characteristics of the Rebound ace? And why is it called so?

I think that green clay is faster and is made of a different substance (some kind of rock I think). Rebound Ace is a rubbery hardcourt. It produces high bounces and it slower than the US Open surface.

Here is some info on each surface:

green clay is pretty similar to red clay. the difference is that green clay is somewhat faster and that the ball bounces a bit higher of red clay.

i'd love to see more grass and carpet tournaments on both tours.

I love watching rebound ace!! It doesn't last nearly enough...even though you can't see the ball on tv...

Grass, and then carpet

Grass.

I might roll my eyes less during Wimbledon if the mens tournament was actually a competition, and not a race between 2 or 3 guys.

Har-tru is more like a gravel than it is a clay, as it is grainy and resembles clay in no way, shape or form.

It feels like gravel when it inevitably ends up between your toes inside your socks while you are playing and is really not the end-all as far as surfaces go...but the geriatrics around here swear on their reconstructed knees that its as soft as can be.

I'm a plexipave nut myself. Think that explains the torn ACL :-)

My vote is for Carpet, because I just love that surface.

But, Rebound Ace and Grass are two very close runner-ups. Rebound is just an amazing surface to watch. And Grass is a personal favorite. And I agree with Queen Rebecca - if there was more of a Grass Season, Wimbledon might actually be a competitive tournament.

Green clay would be interesting. But lets just face it theres not enough tournements played on Grass. My vote goes to the grass

Green Clay is crap, why play on green clay when the real stuff is much better to play on.

I voted Rebound Ace though the major problem with the surface is when it gets hot, because it's rubberised it's very easy to turn an ankle, whilst trying to change direction.

When it's cloudy the court plays slower, but any style of play can succeed on Rebound Ace, unlike the others which are more favoured to certain styles of player.

Grass for sure. I'd like more fast ourdoor courts, no, hard courts are enough. The beautiful green grass is so easy to eye, why not more?

More carpet please. @least there should be a slam on it. Ozzie should be that one IMO.
And it'd be nice to have 1 TMS on grass.

In the perfect world there would be 6 months of clay and 6 months of grass. RG and USO would be played on clay, AO and W on grass. YEC would be played on clay one year and on grass the next.

Green clay is already used. At Wimbledon. The tour obvs needs more quick grass tourneys.

Real grass, naturally. None of that slow shit at SW19.

Can understand carpet, but doesn't indoor hard do the same thing?

Fast Hard courts and the grass season has to be longer. I also wouldn't mind green clay, would like to see how the change effects clay courters games.
