The first tournament after DC, France, Nadal… yeah, it reminds me something
Anyway the draw is very interesting and, moreover, it’s on clay...

(WC) CLEMENT, Arnaud (FRA)/LLODRA, Michael (FRA) v. FERRER, David (ESP)/ROBREDO, Tommy (ESP)
Since when have they needed a WC to play doubles? Or the organizers have just had a redundancy of cards and decided to give one to two nice French guys?

there aren't any other french pair in the draw... fabrice plays with zimonjic (sp?) who isn't french. anyway doubles are getting too confusing these days, i have no idea what their entry critieria are now.

arnaud lost 64 ,64
i did not see the game... but i "watch" live the scor - prob was a tought game... very close points ! in 2nd set arnaud was ahead 2-0 ! he had 2aces... but he did 5 double faults !

Via
04-18-2006, 11:44 PM
yes :awww:

i 'saw' the live scores too.... rafael was very successful with arnaud's second serves, possibly meaning that once they got into rallies then arnaud couldn't win  so there's added pressure to get a good first serve in.

ahhh arnaud !

I can't believe what he said at tv after his match...he admited he started his match without thinking he could win, he just thought to play a good match ! So after he was frustrated because he wasn't confident enough.

that's how too many players are losing to roger and rafael, because they think it's impossible to win...

so how's he doing in the doubles?

oLn

about doubles... today nono and Llodra will play vs Aspelin/Perry (2nd round)

Arnaud will be playing Casablanca! and then it s a week off and according to him, there are great chances he won't play in Rome... dunno really why he wants to skip Rome... Im a bit sad as Im going there but anyway.... I still have one per cent hope that he'll finally go and there are a lot of players to see :)

I have to admit :o I was 90% sure Arnaud is going to lose his singles match - though usually I'm quite positive, I believed in him even against Federer. But I didn't know Arnaud is such a realist himself! lol Just hope he'll go to the court with better spirit next times. Moreover he has great chances in Casablanca. Have a good luck there, Arnaud!

Was also sad to see les gars lost in doubles quite early. And don't know why, but that's always more sad for me when the players I support win their first set but then lose a match itself... Micka and Arnaud haven't played together in semis and finals for quite a long time, hope they're going to correct this fact ;).

That's a weird fact he's going to skip Rome but anyway thank you for the news Anne-Claire! Have a great time at the tournie.

thanks for the news, A-C !!!! what is he thinking, not playing in rome ????? i know they didn't give him a wildcard before when he needed it (what's his ranking now btw?) but we all know what depth of players italy has

have a great time... i wish i could be there too... or casablanca... or any european spring tourney for that matter!

Hey Via!!

You're welcome! Hope you can come in Europe soon ;) It's strange that Arnaud already knows that he's likely not to play in Rome... he must have something scheduled.... (but what? lol) He even told my friend in Halle during the DC that he was really uncertain for Rome.... But Im still hoping!!!! :)
It's strange as hell probably enter main draw there!! But Mika said that he should go...(at least he still has to enter qualies... lol)

Anyway, I'll have more update soon as one friend of mine is going to Casa!;)

Weird

Some problems with the italian organisators, with the crowd ? (Remember some matches against italian players... :o )

Micka is going to Rome ? Because I read in tennis mag he and the director of Rome Masters Serie insulted each other during a match in Miami !
Maybe some frenchies are not welcomed there now...

Anne-Claire
04-22-2006, 09:35 PM
Yes, Mika had some rude talk with the Rome director in Miami, so they're not best friends lol ... so of course he won't have WC for either Q or MD and if he enters qualies... hell probably play far from the show courts! Anyway, with the withdrawals and WCs, I think that Mika should finally play qualies!we ll see!!

Via

well if the frenchies are having some 'bad blood' with the italians (without even any rivalry like a DC encounter lol) they should go there and do well all the more!

i hope arnaud was just having a bad day when he's talking to your friend... he should still be on rome's alternative list, and almost ready to hop into the main draw with some withdrawals.

ohhh europe... when i have the money saved up :p but these days i'm rather fragile so i should need someone to travel with me. it is not a good idea for me to travel alone lol ;)

Yes that's strange but I dunno why! I didn't know that he's skipping Hamburg as well!It will be 3 weeks off for him.... not that bad but if he looses first round in RG.... this would be useless!

Anyway, Im still hoping that he'll show his little face in Rome as for the moment his withdrawal is not official.... and he said that he was 90% sure that He won't come... so Im counting on the other 10% LOL

For those who are interested, for the moment, he doesn't know if hell play Halle or the Queens... it will depend on Mika and their ranking in double...

he said, that about hamburg " i don´t think so". of course he has 3 weeks off but why? i mean in that case he misses 2 masters? why? lets wait. maybe he changes his mind  last year he said that he was practising for WTC and FO...i wish he would come to hamburg.

well, i´m also interested in if he´s coming to halle or queens...hope .... don´t know what i hope....

Roland-Garros: Clément forfait

07/05/2006 - 10:09

yess it's been discussed at the news arnaud thread..

i've been taking the news as pretty much official, and won't expect to hear from arnaud for a few weeks

tennis will be pretty non-existent for me since i may not get RG at all on free tv.
