I know it's too early to make any good educated guesses before the drawing, but just to gear up and celebrate the off-season finally being over (boy, what a LONG MONTH that was! ), toss in your guesses just for the heck of it. No money riding on it. :)

Quarterfinals: Grosjean, Moya, Federer, Nalbandian, Safin, Hewitt, Agassi, Roddick

Dark Horse: Mark Philippoussis

Semifinals: Federer, Hewitt, Agassi, Roddick

Finals: Agassi, Hewitt

Winner: Agassi :yeah: fifth AO title coming right up!

Clijsters looks more terrible than normal.

01-07-2004, 12:48 PM
I don't know the first thing about
Andre Agassi 8/1

Lleyton Hewitt 8/1

Marat Safin 40/1
Iif i was old enough i would have a bet on one of these. Generous odds or what!

Of course it's hard to make predictions before the draw comes out, - but - yes it HAS been a long month(!), - so here goes:-

Quarter Finals: Federer, Agassi, Nalbandian, Hewitt, Roddick, Ferrero, Henman, Coria

Dark Horse: Scheng Schalken

Semi Finals: Federer, Nalbandian, Hewitt, Roddick

Final: Federer/Nalbandian. But to be honest I don't really care who the other one is as long as David is in it and he wins :) :) :)

01-11-2004, 10:05 AM
being the australian open there will probably be 2 unseeded players in the semis ranked around 50 in the world

Hmmm... it's very difficult to make a prediction. But I think it will be something like:

Agassi, Ferrero, Federer, Roddick

Federer, Roddick (but I hope that there will be Ferrero!!!)

01-11-2004, 05:30 PM
If Andy has to play any one of those 3 players, he wont make the finals ;)
Semis: Agassi vs. Nalbandian, Federer vs. Roddick
Agassi OR Nalbanian in 5 sets
Federer in strait sets 6-2,7-6,6-1
Finals: Federer def. Agassi: 7-5,6-7,7-6,6-3

01-11-2004, 05:32 PM
That poster is just terrible. Who ever made it, ought to jump of the face of the earth. ;) Its that bad!!

01-11-2004, 05:51 PM
Horrible poster :fiery:
I'm no good at predicitions so I will :tape:

01-12-2004, 06:31 AM
I'm quite sure not all the top 4 seeds will be in the semi...Maybe two of them or maybe only one...

01-12-2004, 03:38 PM
Winner: Agassi :yeah: fifth AO title coming right up!
couldn't agree more with you, Tangerine :)

Go, Andre!

(BTW, my favourite for the women's title is: Justine Henin :woohoo: )

Ma. Estefania
01-12-2004, 06:47 PM
Yeah....Justine is my fave one too for the women's title. :)

i love paradorn
01-12-2004, 09:09 PM
I have a big question: Will the draw makers use the current ATP entry rankings or the entry rankings a week ago before the start of the season? Because my fav player is now demoted to 13th, which means that if they use the current rankings, he will have to play a top 4 player in the round of 16.

01-16-2004, 05:50 PM
Hrbaty higher than Henman, Flip, Ferrero and Marat??? uhhhhhh...... crack much?

01-16-2004, 06:29 PM
It will be a Roddick and Federer final.

Roddick def. Federer
(0-6, 0-6,) Roger comes out and dominates right away and just when all hope is lost and Roddick is down 3 match points on Federer’s serve he battles back....(6-4, 7-5) in the deciding set it's another marathon match just like Roddick had last year only longer with the quality of play like the sport hasn't seen since the Agassi vs. Sampras matches of the mid 90’s. Roddick pulls it out (31-29)

(0-6,0-6, 6-4,7-5,31-29)

Haha, alright, that won't happen but, it would make a good movie script...

Really I think Agassi wins another Slam but, that's just me...

01-16-2004, 07:01 PM
lmgdfao good thing you were kidding

01-17-2004, 02:16 AM
4th Round:
Chela vs. Schalken
Safin vs. Moya
Agassi vs. Guga
Youzhny vs. Escude
Coria vs. Johansson
Pavel vs. Ferrero
Nalbandian vs. Henman
Nadal vs. Federer

Chela vs. Safin
Guga vs. Escude
Coria vs. Ferrero
Nalbandian vs. Federer

Safin vs. Guga
Ferrero vs. Federer

Guga vs. Ferrero

Champion >> :worship: GUGA :worship: !!

01-18-2004, 04:13 PM
Men:Agassi (although I'm hoping that Marat or Juanqui will win it ;) )
Women:Justine :hearts: Go take that title, baby :yeah:

01-18-2004, 07:47 PM
Not saying this will happen but it could happen& would be a dream final for both local support, US interest and sponsors etc..
Men's Final: Roddick vs Hewitt
6-3,3-6,3-6,7-5,6-8....[Rocky wins]
Women's Final:
Doesn't matter as long as Kim or Venus win!

Who is Rocky?

01-21-2004, 05:40 PM

01-21-2004, 05:52 PM

His nick name is "Rocky" how did that happen?

haha, I knew his catch phrase was "cccccc'mmmmoonn!" but, I didn't know he was Rocky..

01-21-2004, 05:57 PM
Agassi vs Nalbandian.

Nalby wins :)

01-21-2004, 06:04 PM
I don't know, I didn't give him the nickname rocky. I actually thought his nicknames were "Rusty" and "Llegs" but what the hell do I know

01-22-2004, 05:09 AM
Oh Yeah Lleyton's got many nick-names~ so far I've heard; Rusty,Llegs,Rocky,Hewee,Lion^Heart
.... anyway "Rocky" was one of his favourite movies& well documented that he often listens to"Eye of the Tiger"[theme to Stallone franchise] before matches to fire himself up for 5-set heroics.

By the way I'm quite concerned about Hewitt's form since he's struggling against Kucera in 2nd Rd;probably Nadal will give him more to think about so Rocky Llegs needs to find his A-game quick!

Another Final Prediction that I'd love to see is [Srichaphan vs Federer] or [Kuerten vs Ferrero]

...all of these unlikely but certainly would make many tennis fans happy..! We can only pray*#*

I don't know what those numbers mean lmfao

J. Corwin
01-25-2004, 12:27 AM
I understand the odds to win the tournament. But not the over and under dealy with the "+" and "-".

01-25-2004, 12:41 AM
yea that's what I meant.... though I'd assume that the bigger the number, the "less close" they expect the match, or whatever?

As for the regular odds to win, I'm really surprised that Andy is more a favorite than Andre and Roger.

Pink Panther
01-25-2004, 12:44 AM
I'm surprised that Roddick is above Federer.

And yeah, what do the minuses and pluses for the 4th round match-up mean?

J. Corwin
01-25-2004, 12:57 AM
I assumed that as well.

As for Andy being the fave by the bookkeepers, I think the match versus Dent has a lot to do with it. The betters are gullible and easily swing with single matches.

J. Corwin
01-25-2004, 12:57 AM
Andre and Roger are probably bigger faves at the moment.

01-25-2004, 02:20 AM
I would say the odds are fair. Perhaps Andre deserves to be higher then Federer because Federer has a few nemesis players coming up. If he gets through to the semis Federer should move to favourite.

Ferrero is about right because to win the title he would have to beat
Pavel, Phillopoussis, Nalbandian or Federer, Roddick or Agassi

Its possible but not even close to likely

01-30-2004, 05:09 AM
Of course Marat Safin will be the winner~
