I think I just figured out what the problem is. When I went to download the pics, it would download as "attachment.php". I don't know what the heck that is, but it's :bs: and no wonder the files won't show up when you detach them!

So try this: right+click on your av below (I changed the file formats from .jpg to .gif, in case that might help) and click "save as" or "save file as", then rename the file exactly as I have typed here to your desktop:

naldo_av.gif

zoltan_av.gif

If you save the file to your desktop with this file name and extension listed above, then you should have no problems viewing it. (I hope!) :)

In the meantime, Naldo, I will also e-mail your av to you.

Bunk, I'll do your av next.

Hello:
I posted earlier about Andy's latest pics of his training sessions from Florida (yes the shirtless pics) and I was pointing out how he has become flabby in his mid section. I keep reading these posts about how he will get "ripped" for the summer season, etc. However, as a Cooper Certified Trainer who is employed by TEAM USA 2k4 (National Olympic Committee), I do not see how this can happen unless he takes his training seriously and alters his diet drastically. Since i saw these pics of him, I have asked around and have discovered some things about Andy Roddick:
First of all, I have been told by numerous people "in the know" that he truly has a horrible diet. I have been told he often indulges himself with junk food including pizza, cheeseburgers-fries, and that he especially enjoys mexican food (already has his favs lined up in Austin, Texas). He also has a weakness for sweets.
His flabiness in his midsection can be directly associated with his poor diet. If you look at the pics carefully, you can see there is quite abit of "loose skin". This loose skin is from it having been stretched out in a relatively quick time. So when he reduces his waist, the skin does not pull back that fast. I would say that Andy most likely binges at times then his coaches tell him to stop then he naturally loses some of the fat around his mid-section but the loose skin remains.
I am not trying to be critical because I respect his tennis and his pure atheleticism -- I wasjust stunnedthat a young, world class athelete would allow himself to get that flabby. I hope he takes control of his diet so that he can reach his maximum capability -- reach even greater achievements.
Also there was an additional post about his legs and arms being muscular and vascular. Yes, his legs are large and strong as they would have to be in order for him to be able to move around the court so fast and nimbly. But his legs are strong due to his tennis playing and on court training. His right forearm is also very vascular -- this is also due to the nature of the sport. But if you look at the rest of his upper body - shoulders, biceps, triceps, etc, they are very underdeveloped compared to other atheletes of his calibur.
Anyway, i just felt the need to post to all those who felt it neccessary to rip on my original post and to let them know that I DO KNOW what I am talking about. I train Olympic atheletes everyday and it is with the upmost respect for Roddick the athelete that I have.

Andy Roddick from the U.S. celebrates during the third set of his finals match against Guillermo Coria from Argentina at the NASDAQ-100 Open tennis tournament in Key Biscayne, Florida April 4, 2004. Coria retired after the third set with a back injury and Roddick won 6-7 6-3 6-1.

sagroove, who said they didn't believe you?

As Andy fans, we all know how obsessed with food Andy is. We know he eats pizza before matches and that food is pretty much always on his mind lol

I appreciate your input from a perspective of knowing what you're talking about - it's very interesting. Hopefully for Andy's sake, he'll get himself under control.

I suppose stunned is a good word - it's surprising that Brad doesn't clamp down on that more. heck, it's surprising Andy himself doesn't seem to care more to change his diet. I dunno!

Hey sagroove, you're obviously obsessed with Andy's diet but what exactly do you want us to do about it? He's a kid. Kids eat junk food. He's a bit soft in the middle but at least he works out, unlike Andre Agassi in his youth who was allergic to weight-training programs and green leafy vegetables that didn't come from McDonald's. ;)

I'd say there's nothing we can do about it. He complains about not feeling fast on the court. duh! Of course he doesn't. He's either going to figure it out on his own or he isn't. He should hire a nutritionist or consult with one on a regular basis.

And the Davis Cup team was eating Italian food over at his house! I wonder if any of them eat properly.

seems doubtful! Mardy does work with Etcheberry (sp?), but neither him nor either of the twins look particularly ripped. Mardy is smaller-boned by nature I think... but he seems a little soft too.

star
04-07-2004, 06:22 PM
The size of their bones doesn't have much to do about whether they look in shape.

The Bryan brothers have always looked pudgy to me. It could be just because thier faces are so round and fleshy.

That's also where I notice Andy's extra weight. His face isn't as chisled as it has been in the past and he carries some flesh under his chin.

Deboogle!.
04-07-2004, 06:25 PM
I just mentioned Mardy's bone size because he looks thinner than Andy and the twins to me, but he's not more muscular or toned I don't think. I didn't mean that his bone structure affected how fit he was or whatever :)

Yea, the Bryans have pudgy faces but they don't seem that terribly fit underneath their shirts either.

It's tough at their age anyway (well not the Bryans as they're almost 26 I believe) - Andy and Mardy are really still growing into their bodies.... so maybe Andy could get away with his diet before and he can't anymore.

tangerine_dream
04-07-2004, 06:29 PM
I don't think Mardy Fish is small-boned at all. Bunk just posted some pics of him in the Mardy Fish Appreciation thread and I think he looks a lot bigger than Andy does (look at his arms and then compare them to Andy's).

The fact that he has a big square face doesn't help him look smaller, either. ;)

Deboogle!.
04-07-2004, 06:31 PM
you saw them both in person tangy, what do you think? Pictures are hard b/c you never know what angle/distance they were taken at. To me, it looks like Mardy has a smaller frame.

I'll check them out next week in Houston, k?

tangerine_dream
04-07-2004, 06:38 PM
In person, I thought they were all a lot smaller than they look on TV. Mardy has a broader frame than Andy.

This is a perfect excuse to post the following: :lick:  (Andy, not Mardy  )

04-07-2004, 06:39 PM
To me, it looks like they are about the same size... I just judge that from the hugging pictures after the Masters at Cinncy. Andy seems maybe an inch or two taller.

lol.... figured out that I could just look it up. Mardy lists at 6'2" 180

star
04-07-2004, 06:40 PM
Andy lists at 6'2" and 190

Deboogle!.
04-07-2004, 06:43 PM
see, now I thought Andy was much BIGGER than he looked on tv. Maybe that's b/c my mom and I are so small that when he walked by he seemed like this huge imposing figure lol

They're about the same height (6'2") according to the ATP stats - it says Mardy's 180lbs and Andy 190, but last week on CBS they showed Andy at 197lbs, which isn't surprising that he put on weight over the off-season since he got a lot more muscular. Mardy may have gained some weight too but it seems likely that Andy still has 10-15 lbs on him which is a decent difference if they're the same height.

And yes even in those pics, Mardy still looks a little smaller to me than Andy does lol

Looks don't really matter anyway.... Blake looks REALLY fit and we all know his fitness is suspect at best. I'm just saying.... lol

Deboogle!.
04-07-2004, 06:44 PM
LOL star we had the same idea to look it up ;) Great minds.......!

Deboogle!.
04-07-2004, 06:48 PM
Good excuse to put up one of my faves:)

Andy still looks a bit bigger overall to me. A tad taller, a bit wider shoulders and thicker in the middle area. Hard to tell since neither of them are particularly wearing shirts that fit ;) And I think it supports my ultimate point, that Mardy's not in any better shape than Andy lmao which goes back to star's asking if any of them ate right and I stand by my "highly doubtful!" reply :)

star
04-07-2004, 06:52 PM
But Blake doesn't look really fit to me. I look at his calves and think... what are you doing in your workouts? Really, all the good players no matter how thin or emaciated looking they migh tbe have really big calves. James are puny and pathetic. Guga's calves are ENORMOUS. And let me not even talk about Tommy Robredo's calves. ;)

Andy I think is thinking bigger is better and it is not. Did anyone besides me notice that Roger has become much trimmer since last year? 197 is just TOO much weight for Andy.

star
04-07-2004, 06:55 PM
Andy's forearms look bigger and more developed. But the bone size looks about the same. Aso Mardy has more refined features than Andy's. Other than that they look about the same size and the shoulders look similar too. :)

I agree. but then I wonder... isn't this what Brad is for? I mean, Andre turned into a fitness guru, Brad must've learned something from that..... why doesn't he whip Andy into shape (pun intended;))?

I agree with Tangy and feel that Andy and the others look smaller live than they do on TV. They still look tall, but less thick. I actually thought Andy looked quite lean, but then I was sitting in grandstand seats and wasn't particularly close to him. But on TV, and especially for some of these pics, I can't help but to think he's too thick overall and flabby in the midsection to be able to optimize his movement/fitness.

Deboogle!.

Yes it's normal for Kid to like eating junk food but for an athlet, it isn't exactly the same thing. He must take care with more consideration what he eats. I didn't say he must make a strictly diet. After all, he knows what is good for him.
If I'm good remember, Sampras ate hamburgers sometimes before a match. And it was a great champion.

But I'm surprised if Brad Gilbert says nothing about what Roddick eat.

I just want to share these so I attached illustrations.
Two of them are from Power Puff Girls and the one is from Japanese famous cartoon called Crayon Shin-chan.

Tangi, This is talking about sopping up the wet court and the woman next to Andy is Davenport. Andy says "I want to play soon!" and that's why he is there to help staff. Davenport says to Andy "Don't scrub the court so much!"

1st year of university?

Havok
04-25-2004, 03:05 AM
nope, almost done college. after this semester, i got one more to do. I would be moving on to university this September had I taken a full course load per semester, but there's no way I'm taking 8 classes during one semester :scared: so the couple classes here and there i dropped per semester I gotta do them now:D

Interesting. How old were you when you finished high school? And how many years of college do you need before you go to the university level?

Havok
04-25-2004, 03:22 AM
was 16 when i finished high school. you need minimum 2 years of college before heading onto university. depending on your program you chose at college, sometimes you gotta stay for longer, but mine was 2 years long

J. Corwin
04-25-2004, 03:27 AM
Hmm ok. Makes more sense now.

You finished high school quite early.

Havok
04-25-2004, 03:30 AM
nope, its the normal age here in Canada. We have one less year in Highschool than you guys do :p so 16 is the "perfect" age to graduate, that is if you were born in the summer:D

J. Corwin
04-25-2004, 03:34 AM

now we know why Andy sucks at volleying. he practices with his eyes closed ;)

J. Corwin
04-29-2004, 11:37 PM
It doesn't look like he was about to hit a volley. Looks more like he's swinging his arm back and stretching out. ;)

*psst, if it was a volley, he has more technical issues than I thought;)*
