If you want an idea of what Alex Bogomolov looks like just glance at my avatar :D . It's not for sure that he and Ashley are engaged though. Dating? Yes. Engaged? Hasn't been officially confirmed. I don't exactly call someone from the press spotting a ring and calling it an engagement being a confirmation. Not one word has come from Ashley that she is engaged.

She called Alex her "official boyfriend" (which made me laugh anyway because that's something a young kid would say...lol) in an article from Baltimore on Dec. 3rd. In an interview that Alex did with NY Sports Express he not once referred to Ashley as his fiancee only as his girlfriend. So until either one of them say that "yes, we're engaged" or "he/she is my fiancee"...I'm going to believe that they are boyfriend/girlfriend (based on their own words). It wouldn't make too much of a story for the press if Ashley was only wearing a promise ring considering that people their age do that sort of thing often.

Yes, they're both getting married...not sure when Ashley and Alex are but I think Guillermo's wedding is somewhere around the 27-28 December in Rosario, Argentina. He's marrying his 19-year old girlfriend, Carla, whom he's known for about 2 years...that's what I've heard...not sure if it's 100% correct though.

Guille and Carla are getting married on 28th December in Rosario, which is Carla's hometown. She is 19 and he will turn 22 in January and they have been dating for about 3 years. Personally I think they are way too young, but guess if they are both happy and that is what they want - good luck to them :)

By the way - welcome back Mrs. Guga - hope you get some good luck with the job hunting.

And - one probably stupid question(!) - what actually is an "official boyfriend" - never heard that expression before - does it mean you can have lots of "unofficial" ones too!!?

OMG someone who stills says things like "official boyfriend" is getting married! :haha:

That's my point ;) .That's also why I think that this ring that people in the press have seen on her finger may not be an engagement ring. It doesn't seem like anyone bothered to ask either of them and saw a sparkling ring and just assumed. Now, I don't know Ashley at all but I've known many girls around her age that will put a ring like that on there wedding finger for the attention  . I've read an interview that Ashley did after she and Alex played mixed doubles at the US OPEN and it sounds like she's had a crush on Alex for a long time. She's probably on cloud nine because he's her "official boyfriend." It'll be interesting to see what happens as the months go on.

And - one probably stupid question(!) - what actually is an "official boyfriend" - never heard that expression before - does it mean you can have lots of "unofficial" ones too!!?

I can't speak for everyone but, in my experience, it's normally a phrase used by young kids when they start seeing someone that they may have had their eye on for a while. My only small worry about this relationship is that Alex may get hurt when Ashley tires of him being her "official boyfriend." I think I read somewhere a while back about how Roddick was her "first real boyfriend" or something like that so she seems to still be in that stage of counting boyfriends  .

Now, I know that Alex knows her better than any of us but from what I know about Alex personally and Ashley through interviews...Alex seems to be a little too mature for her even though he's only two years older. I don't want anyone to get hurt in this relationship but obviously I worry more about Alex...lol.

Damm, Mrs. Guga. I'd hire you in a new york minute. You'd be a great addition to anyone's work force. Do you want a letter of recommendation?

To Whomever it concerns:

Mrs. Guga is a vivacious, enthusiastic, hardworking young woman. Her good humor and dedication make her a welcome addition to the workplace. She is extremely intelligent and learns new tasks quickly.

As an aside, I must warn you not to let her engage in any computer work because she tends to linger on web pages that feature shirtless ATP players, but other than that arguably forvigable failing, she is an excellent prospect.

Tennis724, I assume you are female?! Anyway... what is Bogomolov's story--he is Russian or something but plays for US?! I dunno...Ashley is so hot, and from the looks of your avatar, so is Alex. And he is wearing a Von Dutch hat--splendidness

Bunk, yay!! Omigod, I LOVE Scottsdale/Phoenix area. You're so lucky. My dad lives there--so it was so convenient if I were to go there and I could stalk Nalbandian--but yeah, no money. There's always next year--Anyway, have fun and tell everyone all about it!!! Is it gonna be your first time going?! You are from Houston or Arizona too?!

I think everyone in tennis is doing everything so young, just 'cause I STILL have never had a boyfriend and I am 19, and it pisses me off that people are engaged and married and having these 4 year romances. I am so jealous. Maybe if I became a tennis player, I will suddenly have romantic success in my life too. Anyway, I guess it's about luck and fate... tennis players seem to be really blessed with that.

Ok I'm from the Boston area but go to school in Houston. My parents and I take a vacation every spring to Scottsdale just because we like it there (when my parents retire to somewhere warm I'm sure it'll be that area) and this year the tennis tourney happens to be the same exact week I'll be there so I begged my parents to go LOL... I'm going to one day session by myself and one night session with them. But..... it's my very first live tennis experience and I am SO EXCITED!!!!! The only players I know for sure are playing there yet are Andy, Taylor, James, and Andre so I figure I can't lose since I love all of them.... I hope they keep adding good players!

Star, lol! You're cheesy! LOL... but I'll be sure to keep that on hand--but I just have horrible luck with jobs... even the place at which I worked for a year wouldn't hire me. I just can't find a job.

As for my website, omigod--I do have a habit of just dropping off the face of the planet. That sucks--I am just not very committed to anything--I get bored so easily... ho hum

yeah he's playing for the first time ever (it kinda makes sense since Scottsdale isn't too far from LA and Indian Wells is the following week, so it's a nice close easy lead-in)... but yea I'm PSYCHED! :) People are gonna have to teach me how to find out practice schedules and stuff lol. I got third row seats, but they're allllllllllllllllll the way at the end of the long end of the court. Oh well, it was the best I could do. It'll be fun anyhow :)

and wow.... GOOD LUCK getting a job. It's tough out there right now, I hope you can find something!

But really, on the side courts at IW, I like to sit right on the baseline or slightly behind it. And my seats in the stadium are on the baseline.

Also I like sitting behind the court on the sideline too. :)

Dear Mrs. Guga - didn't anyone ever tell you that you can't stalk David Nalbandian because he belongs to me.... :) I might let you borrow him for a while though - in my dreams, - like I should be so lucky!!

Anyway, - I wouldn't worry about all these people getting married/engaged so young, - I was actually engaged when I was 18 and it didn't work out because after a year or so we both realised we were FAR too young for such a commitment - so just enjoy your freedom while you can.

Yes, I'm female :) . It depends on how much of Alex's story you want to hear...lol. I'm known to go on and on and on about him ;) . Yes, he is a Russian-born American. I believe that he and his family moved to Florida when he was around 11. I won't go into the long story now but my whole support and excitement about Alex started in 2002 with following his results but since I've met him several times now...my respect and support for him grows every day. That's sappy but what can I say? :D

I have to admit to ignorance here. I've been trying to figure out what the big deal is about the brand of hat that he wears. Is Von Dutch just a brand? Or does it mean something? I know i'm not that old :p .

I think everyone in tennis is doing everything so young, just 'cause I STILL have never had a boyfriend and I am 19, and it pisses me off that people are engaged and married and having these 4 year romances. Mrs. Guga, I didn't have my first serious relationship until I was 21. And before that I had only go on 2 or 3 dates between 18-21. Dating is complicated and, in my opinion, not something to do just to have it on your resume ;) . I'm 25 now and I think that I sort of scare guys away in some environments because i'm so independent. Who knew independence could be a bad thing?

My opinion only...it's not really a matter of physical attraction. Most of the good men are not only intimidated by a woman confident in her looks but by how independent she is. Being physically attractive is only a small part of the dating world ;) . I can't count how many physically attractive men that I've come across with nothing upstairs  .

Some restaurants, you have to wait forever even it's not tourist season. Especially on weekends. I remembered it was late June on Sunday night. I went to PF Chang at about 6:30pm. The restaurant actually ran out of those pagers and the hostess told us came back in about 45 minutes to have a pager :worship: and we ended up waited for about 2 hours to get a table. But there are lots of shops around and it's a nice stroll after sunset as it's already very hot at that time of year.
