Andre will be on Dr. Phil's show this afternoon, Dec. 24, on CBS. I believe 3:00 pm EST is the scheduled time, but check your local listings because the show is syndicated and times could vary.
Thanks to TANGERINE DREAM :worship: for posting this in the Agassi forum. I wanted to let everyone in GM know about it too.
Here's a little write-up:
12/24 Heroes and Role Models--- Can you still remember your childhood hero or role model? Todays role models are chosen by their celebrity status. Can this growing obsession with stars and pro athletes lead to poor character traits and values in your child? Dr. Phil addresses the importance of parents being a childs biggest hero. And who is Dr. Phils hero? Not only is he one of Americas top professional athletes, hes also been dubbed one of our most caring. Andre Agassi joins Dr. Phil to discuss his school and the principles it was founded on.

THanks for the news - assuming I get him at the same time (I think that I do?) I'll definately tune in! No really... I will. :)
Actually, Andre and Dr. Phil have played in about 4 exo matches together I think. It might even be more than that.
And you should all definitely check your local listings for the correct time. Dr. Phil is syndicated and that means that it is on a different station and different time in each region (and a few don't get it at all). It is not owned by any of the five major networks, so it's all over the schedule.

ok for anyone who can't see it/didn't see it...
Andre got a really nice feature, almost 15 minutes long. Dr. Phil called him a "rare breed of celebrity" who uses what he has to "really do some good" and he called him his "friend, hero, and role model" - some pretty high words!
They talked about their tennis playing, joked about it a little, etc.
Andre doesn't really like being talked about as a hero but he's made giving a priority, wants to "add to somebody's day" and he talks about his wild days and how he had to grow up and find out who he is in front of the world.
His charity school has 250 kids total, 3-7th grade, and is a part state-funded charter school. They're adding a grade every year and had to get the state legislature of Nevada to change the school laws so they could have 8-hour days. They talk a lot about the kids at the school and how behind they are and how quickly they catch up at Andre's school and you can see how passionate/excited he is about it.
Then at the end of the show Andre came out again and asked for donations for Andre's school lol. They sell bricks that will go into the new part of the building - $300, $600, $1200 to raise $18 million to finish the school. There's a $20 million endowment fund that will keep it going after it's built.
all I can say is.... wow... how amazing!

It was a nice segment. Andre's efforts were cast in a very nice light. Dr. Phil can get on my nerves, but since he put Andre on the show he's all good!
I wish we could have seen more highlight of the doubles exhibition where Andre played with Dr. Phil! In the clip they showed Dr. Phil hit a "screaming" winner down the line on the run!

LOL. Love how you put the phrase:Dr Phil hit a screaming winner down the line on the run. I knew Dr Phil played tennis, but i wasnt aware he could hit winners like Andre!! :) :) :)
